Galatians 1:6-12, “I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed. For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ. But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man. For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.”
The following passage of Scripture plainly exposes anyone who would embellish the Gospel. To “embellish” means: “to add details to; to make more attractive by adding ornament.” This is a horrible sin to do! As you just read, God curses anyone who perverts His Gospel. God doesn't need our help to coerce people to forsake their sins, by adding turning from your sins to the free grace Gospel. On Pacific Garden Mission's Unshackled radio program, they pervert the Gospel, embellishing it. Bryan Lee Venckus gives his testimony:
“God, I keep messing up, and I have no idea what's ahead of me now. But I know this, I'm done going full-throttle for the Devil. I want to go full-throttle for You now. Jesus, I repent of all my sins. I'm through being my own boss. It's Your turn to be Lord, I give it all to You. I'm looking to You. And You know, I'm also looking to You for a new dream, the one You have for me to do. Whatever it is God, I surrender.” —Bryan Lee Venckus (Program #3631 - Aired in 2020 - 22:10 time in audio)
Folks, that is not the Gospel! Everything that I made bold is additions to the Gospel. Nowhere does the Bible teach anyone to “repent of sins” to be saved. Nowhere does the Bible say that you have to transfer control of your life from you to Him, to be saved. Nowhere are we taught to “surrender” to Jesus to be saved. Nowhere are we taught to make Jesus “Lord” to be saved. PGM are pulling on the same rope as the Devil. They sinfully embellish the Gospel with all sorts of additions that teach Lordship Salvation.
Please notice that Bryan Lee Venckus doesn't even mention Jesus' death, burial or bodily resurrection. Unshackled is a mess doctrinally! At best, they present bits and pieces of the Gospel here and there, but always embellish it with a bunch of theological junk that God does not require to receive His gift of eternal life. The dire consequence is that many people are experiencing a changed religious life (reformation), but have never been born-again by faith alone. This is the problem with the ungodly Harvest Baptist Church in Guam in Micronesia. They lie to people, claiming to believe in salvation by grace alone, while embellishing the Gospel with the things I just mentioned.
Harvest Baptist Church on Guam promotes Unshackled on their KHMG 88.1 FM radio station on Guam, deceiving people with the Devil's lie that you must “repent of your sins” to be saved. Anyone who tells you this has been inspired by the Devil. I'm talking about heretics' Pastor Marty Herron, Pastor Gary Walton, Dr. Steve Pettit, Pastor John MacArthur and Evangelist Ray Comfort. These men are theologically corrupted. When they speak of “saving faith,” they mean that you must live a life of obedience to God. That is a perversion of grace! Harvest Baptist Church on Guam promotes Unshackled and Bob Jones University, both of which preach hardcore Lordship Salvation.
I am supportive of the work that Pacific Garden Mission does. We need rescue missions. But that doesn't give them a right to pervert God's grace, by changing the Gospel in an attempt to force people to turn away from their sins. Bob Jones University alumni, Lou Martuneac, has turned against his college, exposing them for preaching the Devil's lie of Lordship Salvation. For that I commend him. Likewise, I have turned against Hyles-Anderson College, where I graduated in 1993, because since 2008 they have denied the inspiration of the King James Bible. What is wrong with Christians today? Lou makes this helpful true statement, defining Lordship Salvation:
Defined briefly: Lordship Salvation is a position on the gospel in which “saving faith” is considered reliance upon the finished work of Jesus Christ. Lordship views “saving faith” as incomplete without an accompanying resolve to “forsake sin” and to “start obeying.” Lordship’s “sine qua non” (indispensable condition) that must be met to fully define “saving faith,” for salvation, is a commitment to deny self, take up the cross, and follow Christ in submissive obedience. (In Defense of the Gospel: Revised & Expanded Edition, p. 48.)
Do you see the lying deception of Lordship Salvation? It is a half-truth. The Bob Jones' crowd will claim to believe that salvation is wholly of grace, as does the shameful Harvest Baptist Church on Guam, but then they subtly add the unbiblical requirement to live the Christian life, which to them saving faith encompasses. Do you realize that Bob Jones University and Unshackled are preaching the SAME heresy of Lordship Salvation as Ellen G. White? The Devil is very sneaky, so subtle that he has even deceived many preachers today concerning the Gospel. I have a book in front of me by Miss Ellen G. White (1827-1915) titled: “The Great Hope.” Sadly, it has been published by Thomas Nelson (the same company who publishes the Bible). Right doctrine matters folks! Miss White teaches a counterfeit gospel of Lordship Salvation. She writes on pages 48-49 of her book 'The Great Hope':
The sanctification now gaining notice in the religious world carries a spirit of self-exaltation and a disregard for the law of God that identify it as foreign to the Bible. Those who teach it claim that sanctification happens instantly, and by this means, through “faith alone” they reach perfect holiness. “Only believe” they say, “and the blessing is yours.” No further effort is supposed to be required from the receiver. At the same time they deny the authority of God's law, claiming that they are released from any obligation to keep the commandments. But is it possible to be holy without coming into harmony with the principles that express God's nature and will? The Word of God testifies against this traplike doctrine of faith without works. It is not faith that claims God's favor without complying with the conditions on which He grants mercy. It is presumption. (See James 2:14-24.) [emphasis added] —Ellen G. White, 'The Great Hope,' pp. 48-49; ©1979, Thomas Nelson, Inc.
Oh my, what ungodly heresy! According to Ellen White's demonic teaching, a person cannot be saved by “faith alone,” there must also be a turning from sin, she says, otherwise you have not met the conditions of holiness which God demands to validate your faith! That is of the Devil. You see friend, she is basing her false plan of salvation on one's holiness. The inspired Holy Bible teaches something very different. The Bible says our salvation is based upon GOD'S RIGHTEOUSNESS! Philippians 3:9, “And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:” This Bible verse exposes Ellen White as a liar, and the Seventh-Day Adventist (SDA) religion that idolizes her as a fraudulent false religion.
And sadly, these truths also expose Bob Jones University, Harvest Baptist Church on Guam, and Pacific Garden Mission as corrupters of the free grace Gospel. This is not a mere matter of theological semantics! Lordship Salvation does not fall within the acceptable realm of orthodox Christianity, it is a perversion of God's grace!!! Remember, salvation is 100% free from God. So if you must turn from sin, leave the old life behind, run the race, and surrender to Christ as your Boss (Lord), it cannot truly be considered a free gift (Romans 5:15-18, 6:23; Ephesians 2:8-9).
“The pastors have destroyed the churches, and they've been trained by people that have never built churches, and they have no compassion.” —Pastor Jack Hyles, “Many Pastors Have Destroyed My Vineyard”
