How Proponents Of Lordship Salvation Deceive Everyone

Acts 15:1 and 24, “And certain men which came down from Judaea taught the brethren, and said, Except ye be circumcised after the manner of Moses, ye cannot be saved. ...Forasmuch as we have heard, that certain which went out from us have troubled you with words, subverting your souls, saying, Ye must be circumcised, and keep the law: to whom we gave no such commandment:

Ladies and gentlemen, the proponents of Lordship Salvation are just as guilty as the Judaizer cult, who told the Jews that except they be circumcised and keep the law, they cannot be saved. Anyone who adds anything, to faith alone to be saved, has corrupted God's grace! All of these false teachers today, who add that you must “repent of your sins to be saved, are preaching another gospel.

The way that Lordship Salvationists deceive people is by redefining theological terms. The Greek meaning of repent in the Bible is simply a change of mind.” The Lordship Salvation crowd pervert the meaning of repentance to mean “turn from your sins to be saved. When a preacher tells people to repent of your sin, he is adding and corrupting the meaning of repentance. Nowhere in the Bible are we taught to repent of our sin to be saved. We are taught to repent toward God in Acts 20:21. We are taught to repent to acknowledge the truth in 2nd Timothy 2:25. But we are never taught to repent of our sin to be saved! To teach that someone must repent of your sin to be saved, is just as horrible as what the false teachers taught in Acts 15:1. What saith the Scripture? Acts 15:24b, “...to whom we gave no such commandment:The Apostle Paul said Jesus Himself gave the Gospel directly to him (Galatians 1:12). Paul didn't receive the Gospel from man. Paul never mentions anything about turning away from your sins to be saved.

Yet, thousands of churches, Bible colleges, rescue missions and missionaries on the field are preaching that to receive God's free gift of eternal life, you must first be willing to turn away from your sinful ways. They are all preaching another gospel—a counterfeit gospel that compels people to live the Christian life without ever being born-again. Look at the junk theology being preached by Pacific Garden Mission's radio program, 'Unshackled.' For example: In UNSHACKLED program #3589 (aired in 2020), a woman named Debbie Brooks meets with a religious friend named Sharon:

SHARON: Trusting Jesus is the only thing that can make a difference in my messed-up life.

DEBBIE: I keep hearing that in church, but I don't get it—how something that EASY can be a life-changer.

SHARON: Oh Debbie, it's not easy—believing in Jesus means repenting and asking forgiveness for all the old ways, and then GIVING THEM UP FOR GOOD. When you find the COURAGE TO DO THAT, He'll help you CHANGE YOUR LIFE.

DEBBIE: Huh, well, I'll have to think about it. [emphasis added]

Dear reader, what you just read taught by Pacific Garden Mission in Chicago is of the Devil, straight out of the pits of Hell. I hope you see how evil this is. According to this UNSHACKLED program, it is NOT EASY to be saved, because you are required to GIVE UP YOUR OLD SINFUL WAYS PERMANENTLY! That is “another gospel” accursed by God! How can eternal life be a free gift, if you are required to have the courage to give up all your old sinful ways permanently? That would make eternal life a trade. Pastor Jack Hyles offers these helpful words of refutation against Lordship Salvation:

Lordship salvation would make salvation a trade or a deal or maybe even a bribe.  It would take away the simple reception of Christ for eternal life and would become God giving us something if we give Him something. God would say to us, “You give Me something; I'll give you something. We will trade, and you will be saved.” Salvation is not my giving God something and God giving me something; salvation is God giving me something and my receiving it. Romans 6:23, “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” —Pastor Jack Hyles, “Lordship Salvation” (chapter 11 from his book: “Salvation Is More Than Being Saved”)

Do you see how Pacific Garden Mission has been misled by the Devil? They are preaching another gospel. To embellish the Gospel with additional requirements is to attack the grace of God, and to attack the God of grace! The main reason this false doctrine has crept into our churches and Bible colleges is because of the corrupt modern Bible revisions. For example: Look at what Mark 1:15 does to corrupt the meaning of repentance in the Easy-To-Read Version (ERV). Mark 1:15 in the ERV perverts “repent” to mean to change your life! They do the same for Hebrews 6:1. All of the translations that came from the Greek of Brooke Westcott and Fenton Hort are utterly corrupted. The Jehovah's Witnesses love Westcott and Hort. Did you know that? Do you know why? It is because Westcott and Hort attacked Jesus' deity. All of the modern perversions attack Christ's deity. You couldn't make this stuff up!

Did you know that the Communist Cuban government admirably rejected a free shipment of 17,000 New International Version (NIV) Bibles? It is true! I commend the Cuban government, for having more horse-sense than most of America's stupid pastors and churches who embrace the Devil's Bible versions!!! It is human nature to go along with whatever our leaders tell us. That is the problem. So if the Bible colleges are corrupt, and they are training the pastors, then the churches will be corrupted also (and they sure are!). It is a domino effect. Bob Jones University today is the citadel of Lordship Salvation in America! Dr. Bob Jones Sr. (1883-1968) would blown the college to smithereens today if he could, and he said so himself in 1944. Dr. Steve Pettit is an infidel at BJU.

Dr. Kevin T. Bauder is a so-called Baptist theologian. Unfortunately, he doesn't know what he is talking about. Professor Bauder was president of Central Baptist Theological Seminary of Minneapolis. Since 2011, he has been Research Professor of Systematic Theology at the seminary. Bauder received a Bachelor of Arts from Faith Baptist Bible College And Theological Seminary in Iowa, where shameful false teacher Marty Herron now works. Dr. Bauder foolishly says that Fundamentalists and Evangelicals, “believe, preach and defend the [same] gospel.” Kevin Bauder is a false teacher! We do NOT believe and preach the SAME Gospel. One of the biggest false teachers today, considered the godfather of the modern-day Lordship Salvation cult, is Pastor John MacArthur in California. Mr. MacArthur heretically states:

“The narrow gate is hard to find and hard to go through, because it demands denial of self, denial of self-righteousness, recognition of sin, full of repentance, submission to Christ, commitment to obey Him and follow Him no matter what the cost! It's hard to find that truth and hearing it, it's hard to act upon it, because of the love self and the love of sin, which is natural for the sinner! The true way to Heaven is hard to find.” (MacArthur, YouTube: “Are You Saved Or Self-Deceived?”)

“Let me say again unequivocally that Jesus’ summons to deny self and follow him was an invitation to salvation, not . . . a second step of faith following salvation.” (Dr. John MacArthur, The Gospel According to Jesus: What is Authentic Faith?,” p. 219.)

“That is the kind of response the Lord Jesus called for: wholehearted commitment. A desire for him at any cost. Unconditional surrender. A full exchange of self for the Savior.” (Pastor John MacArthur, Ibid, p. 150.)

“Salvation is for those who are willing to forsake everything.” (Dr. John MacArthur, The Gospel According to Jesus,” p. 78.)

“This is what Jesus meant when He spoke of taking up one’s own cross to follow Him. And that is why he demanded that we count the cost carefully. He was calling for an exchange of all that we are for all that He is. He was demanding implicit obedience—unconditional surrender to His lordship.” (Dr. John MacArthur, Hard to Believe, p. 6.)

Upon reading these bold statements from Dr. MacArthur, there is absolutely no way that anyone can justly claim that advocates of Lordship Salvation believe and preach the SAME Gospel as Fundamentalists. I am a Fundamentalist! I believe anyone who comes to God as a needy sinner, can be saved simply by believing the Good News (Gospel) that Jesus is the Christ, the only begotten Son of God Who died on the cross for their sins, was buried and bodily resurrected three days later. That's it! 1st Thessalonians 4:14, “For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.I love that Bible verse, because it shows the simplicity of the Gospel.

I could go on and on and mention many things, exposing the extent by which Lordship Salvation has infiltrated, corrupted and destroyed thousands of churches. The modern Bible revisions are deadly, and I mean DEADLY!!! Please only use the inspired King James Bible! Beware of mainstream evangelicalism in America, which has descended into a neo-evangelical nightmare of heresy, worldliness, apostasy, hypocrisy and utter confusion. ...

“Be on guard against any tampering with the Word, whether disguised as a search for truth, or a scholarly attempt at apparently hidden meanings; and beware of the confusion created by the senseless rash of new versions, translations, editions, and improvements upon the tried and tested Bible of our fathers and grandfathers.” —Pastor M.R. DeHaan, “The Tabernacle,” Pg. 101

Lastly for this article, I want to show you how proponents of Lordship Salvation have also redefined what “saving faith” means. Sadly, Dr. Steve Pettit (president of Bob Jones University) and Miss Ellen G. White (Seventh-Day Adventist false prophetess), both errantly redefine 'saving faith' to mean yielding full surrender to Christ as Lord, being faithful to obey God and run the Christian race until the end. This is works, not the gift of God. So when you hear Dr. Steve Pettit, Harvest Baptist Church on Guam, and the Bob Jones' crowd talking about saving faith by God's grace, they mean something very different than what the Bible teaches. They understand saving faith to include obedience, surrender and turning from your sins. Their gospel is not our Gospel. Thank you for reading my blog. God bless you!
