Chick Tracts = Bad Gospel

The Gospel Message that is presented WILL DETERMINE a person’s ETERNAL DESTINY in Heaven or in Hell. So, it is of the utmost importance that THE GOSPEL be presented correctly. Sadly, Chick Tracts are among some of the worst religious literature available today, which horribly mislead lost sinners concerning God's simple plan of salvation.

TAKE NOTICE of what a person (According to this Chick Tract) MUST DO to go to Heaven:

#1 – Surrender their life to Christ.

#2 – Repent of their sins.

#3 – Be willing to turn from their sins.

#4 – Invite Jesus into their heart.

NOTE: None of these things are mandatory to get to Heaven. Certainly, the good Lord does want His children to repent of our sins, and to surrender to faithfully follow and serve Him all the days of our earthly life, but NOT TO GET SAVED. For to do so would constitute WORKS for salvation. What saith the Scripture in Romans 4:4-5, “Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt. But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.” Listen friend, God does not owe any sinner eternal life! Lost sinners have ALWAYS been saved by God's unmerited and underserving grace throughout human civilization.

I am appalled by Peter S. Ruckman (1921-2016) and his gang of theological thugs (e.g., William P. Grady and Robert Breaker to name but a couple) who FALSELY teach that sinners in the Old Testament under Mosaic law were saved by WORKS. Hear Bill Grady for yourself say that no one had eternal security in the Old Testament and no one was saved. Sadly, Pastor Grady preaches the damnable heresy of Lordship Salvation! They have another gospel.

TAKE NOTE: NOWHERE in inspired Scripture is a person instructed to do any of the above listed things in order to get to Heaven, which would be ADDING WORKS to the Gospel message to make it void. Galatians 5:4, “Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.” Thus, the only way that anyone could ever “fall from grace” is if you foolishly try to earn your way to Heaven by works. In sharp contrast, a Christian believer who is already saved can only “fall in grace” (Romans 6:1).

The truth is… Chick Tracts mix and add works and the Gospel together.

Romans 11:6 states…

Romans 11:6, “And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.”

SIMPLY PUT… Salvation is either ALL of Grace or ALL of works. IT CANNOT be both.

The Gospel message is the single MOST IMPORTANT doctrine there is in all of Scripture.

The ONLY THING a person MUST DO to go to have eternal life is…

Acts 16:31, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ to be saved.”

1 Corinthians 15:1-4, “Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; (2) By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. (3) For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; (4) And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.”

Simply believe that Jesus Christ DIED on a cross for YOUR SINS, He shed his blood on the cross, He was BURIED, and Three Days later Jesus miraculously RESURRECTED physically from the dead. Christ ascended into Heaven and sprinkled His precious blood upon the heavenly Mercy Seat AS COMPLETE PAYMENT for your sins and mine (Hebrews 9:12, 22-24; 12:24). Simply believe that Jesus did it all for you!

The moment that you, by faith (taking God at His written Word), receive Christ's sacrifice on the cross and His bodily resurrection as full payment for your sins, you YOU WILL HAVE Everlasting Life that CANNOT ever be taken away NO MATTER WHAT. If saved, always saved!

John 6:47, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.”

1st Thessalonians 4:14, “For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.”

Ephesians 1:13, “In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise.”

John 10:28-29, “And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand.”

Dear reader, I cannot warn you enough to avoid Chick Tracts. Sadly, their ministry since 1961 when Jack Chick (1924-2016) began, has already sold over one billion toxic Chick Tracts that preach another gospel (2nd Corinthians 11:3-4). I visited their website today, but was confronted with a creepy message that said they and their 924 partners track web visitors with cookies. Those 924 partners have blood on their hands for preaching a contaminated plan of salvation, perverting the truth of God's Word (Romans 1:25).

I do not question Jack Chick's sincerity, but what saith the Scripture? Proverbs 16:25, “There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.”

Dear reader, you must decide if you are going to believe what Jesus taught in the Bible in the Gospel of John concerning how to get to Heaven; or else believe what Jack Chick teaches contrary to the Holy Bible. In fact, none of the following Chick Tract requirements are taught in the Bible to get to Heaven:

#1 – Surrender your life to Christ.

#2 – Repent of your sins.

#3 – Be willing to turn from your sins.

#4 – Invite Jesus into your heart.

I think Pastor Harry A. Ironside (1876-1951) said it very well...

WHEN THE REVIVALIST comes promising salvation to those "who make a full surrender" of all that they have to God, and who "pay the price of full salvation," he is preaching another gospel, for the price was paid on Calvary's cross and the work that saves is finished. It was Christ Jesus who made the full surrender, when He yielded Himself unto death for us that we might be redeemed from the curse of the broken law and forever saved from the judgment to come upon all who refuse His grace. —Pastor Harry Ironside, from his tract: “Another Gospel”

Consider further the following edifying quote by Pastor Ironside...

“The Gospel is not a call to repentance, or to amendment of our ways, to make restitution for past sins, or to promise to do better in the future. These things are proper in their place, but they do not constitute the Gospel; for the Gospel is not good advice to be obeyed, it is good news to be believed. Do not make the mistake then of thinking that the Gospel is a call to duty or a call to reformation, a call to better your condition, to behave yourself in a more perfect way than you have been doing in the past …

Nor is the Gospel a demand that you give up the world, that you give up your sins, that you break off bad habits, and try to cultivate good ones. You may do all these things, and yet never believe the Gospel and consequently never be saved at all.”

Amen and amen. I thank God for truly free grace preachers like Pastor Harry Ironside. Most of the clergy these days deceitfully claim to believe in a free grace Gospel, but then they subtly add works (e.g., repent of your sins, follow Christ, surrender all) to pervert it. Remember dear reader, eternal life is a “free gift” from God (Romans 5:15-18). By every definition of the word, for something to truly be a “gift,” it can have no strings attached nor impose any obligations for the recipient to keep it. You just take it! Salvation is a TAKE proposition, not a GIVE proposition. Salvation is received, not achieved.

Michael Patrick Bowen correctly explains Biblical repentance...

“Repent, as Christ meant it to be in terms of salvation, means to change your mind from trusting in what you can do for God to trusting only in what He can do for you.”

It is wrong to teach that a person must repent first, and then believe second; that is a false doctrine. The Bible teaches that the man who believes on Jesus has also repented. They happen simultaneously. One who has turned to Jesus for salvation has effectively turned his back against sin. This is biblical salvation, evidenced by the plain words of John 20:31, “But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.” You don't turn from your sins to trust Jesus; you trust Christ who died for your sins. Amen!

Jesus died, was buried and is forever physically risen (1st Corinthians 15:1-6). This is the Gospel. Jesus' grave is empty. We have a hope (John 16:33). Christ died, that's history; Christ died for me, that's salvation. If you repent toward God through faith in His Son Jesus Christ to be forgiven of your sins, then you ARE saved (Acts 20:21). The Gospel is not making a commitment to the Lord, nor is the Gospel amending one's sinful ways and forsaking bad habits. The Gospel is not accepting Jesus into one's heart, nor is it receiving Jesus as Lord and Savior. The Gospel is not praying a prayer, nor is it inviting Jesus into your life to stay. The Gospel is Jesus' DEATH, BURIAL and RESURRECTION according to 1st Corinthians 15:1-4. Beware of false prophets who come in sheep's clothing preaching ANOTHER GOSPEL, ANOTHER JESUS and ANOTHER SPIRIT (2nd Corinthians 11:3-4).
