2nd Peter 2:1-3, “But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of. And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.”
Sid Roth's It's Supernatural! is a talk show which televangelist Sid Roth hosts in order to promote the supernatural as it relates to Christianity. The show is widely broadcast on Christian television networks in the United States and it is also widely broadcast on various international networks.
Unfortunately, televangelist Sid Roth preaches another gospel. In this video presentation called: "How to Know God," he teaches that the way to know God is to draw closer to Him. To do this Sid says you must take the first step to God by praying a prayer. In this prayer he tells you to admit to God that you are a sinner, and that you believe Jesus' blood washes away your sins. Then Sid says you are now clean, and he tells you to pray again to invite Jesus to come inside of you. He says to pray and say: “I make Jesus my Messiah and Lord.”
He then leads the viewer to tell God: “Now that Jesus is my Savior and Lord, I ask Him to fill me with Your Holy Spirit, from the top of my head to the bottom of my toes, now, in Jesus' name.” Sid Roth then tells the viewer that God has given you “a supernatural language,” and he follows his speech by rambling in some jibber-jabber, speaking in unknown tongues.
Okay, lets examine Sid Roth's teachings and compare them with the inspired Word of God. In the Holy Bible we find “the Gospel” defined for us:
1st Corinthians 15:1-4, “Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:”
That is the true Gospel: Christ DIED on a cross for our sins, He was BURIED and three days later He RESURRECTED from the dead. In the preceding article titled: “How to Know God” by Sid Roth, he doesn't even mention Jesus' death, burial or resurrection. Sid doesn't mention the cross. So where is THE GOSPEL? Sid Roth is a false prophet!!!
Also, Roth errantly requires that you make Jesus your “Messiah and Lord” to know God. Dear reader, you don't make Jesus “Lord,” HE IS LORD!!! To get to Heaven you simply need to receive Him as your personal Savior. John 1:12-13, “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.” Sid Roth doesn't mention going to Heaven or being born-again. Roth's plan of salvation is extremely vague, woefully lacking the elements of the Gospel, and errantly adds Lordship to faith alone in Christ, which is a false plan of salvation.
Following Jesus as your “Lord” is discipleship, not sonship. It is service, not salvation. Getting saved has absolutely nothing to do with making Jesus your Lord. Pilgrim's Progress author John Bunyan said it best:
“If you do not put a difference between justification wrought by the man Christ without and sanctification wrought by the Spirit of Christ within, you are not able to divide the Word aright; but contrariwise, you corrupt the Word of God, and cast stumbling blocks before the people.” —John Bunyan (1628-1688)
Furthermore, speaking in unknown tongues is a pagan practice with its origins in witchcraft. Sid Roth and company are Charismatics. They speak in demonic tongues. They are religious con artists who perpetrate fake healing services. In his popular recruiting video titled: “IT'S SUPERNATURAL!,” one of Sid Roth's ministry accomplices pretends to heal a man who cannot walk. I wish the government would require medical proof of these bogus healing claims. It would shut down the Charismatic movement overnight. NBC Nightline has clearly proven Charismatic Benny Hinn a disgusting fraud...
The insider: Tales from inside Benny Hinn Ministries - The Fifth Estate
Why doesn't the government arrest and prosecute frauds like Benny Hinn? I thought the government was supposed to protect the public. These dirty false prophets don't believe a word of what they say, they merely exploit Christianity for their own personal greedy gain.
Beware of Sid Roth and company! They just want YOUR MONEY! Their plan of salvation is corrupt. Speaking in jibber-jabber tongues is not evidence of being filled with God's Holy Spirit; but rather, being controlled by familiar spirits (demons). Sid Roth is part of the Word of Faith prosperity gospel movement.
On his Tv program, Sid invites loony people who behave as fools, blaspheming the Word of God. In 2009, Sid Roth claimed that God gave him the supernatural ability to see when people are being healed. He called this a “Word of Knowledge.” These religious charlatans take advantage of naïve and hurting people, making empty promises of bodily healing that never comes. Their speaking in gibberish tongues on Sid's show is nothing less than insanity. This is pagan!!!
It is difficult for me to believe that anybody could be so gullible and far from God that they'd fall for this nonsense. At about 8 minutes into this video, Sid tells a crazy story of a man who threw his baby on the floor and then kicked the baby lick a soccer ball against the wall, but then a miracle happened so that the baby was perfectly fine. Do you really think this is a man of God? The saddest thing is that the whole audience is clapping for this insanity.
Dear friend, God's power is not for sale. Simon the former sorcerer learned that the hard way in Acts 8:18-24. Simon ignorantly thought that the power of the Holy Spirit could be purchased with money. Simon had been taught this lie all his life by Charismatic type false prophets, soothsayers and demon-possessed people. Please RUN from the Health, Wealth and Prosperity Word of Faith movement.
