Hebrews 10:10-14, “By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins: But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God; From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool. For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.”
A born-again believer couldn't go to Hell if they tried. Dear reader, salvation is of the Lord. Jonah 2:9-10, “But I will sacrifice unto thee with the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay that that I have vowed. Salvation is of the LORD. And the LORD spake unto the fish, and it vomited out Jonah upon the dry land.” There is absolutely no way that a saint can ever lose the salvation which God promised to THEM THAT BELIEVE before the world began. 1st Corinthians 1:21, “For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.” Titus 1:2, “In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;” Eternal life is a promise to those who receive it by faith alone in Christ.
Once saved always saved. Salvation is of the Lord, not of man. You cannot save yourself! Salvation is not doing your best, it is having Christ's best put to your account through receiving Him by faith. God will not save anyone who is trying to be saved, He will only save those who are trusting to be saved. Religion is man trying to reach God through human effort, but Christianity is God trying to reach man by the sacrifice of His only begotten Son on the cross. Everyone has faith, but it's up to you to put it wherever you want.
For those of you who have come to Jesus, God promises eternal life. The only kind of life that God offers is eternal life—not temporal or probationary life—but eternal life. John 6:37-38, “All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out. For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.” If anyone could ever lose the promise of salvation that God gives to those who believe, then Jesus would be a liar. Dear reader, there is not even one documented case in the inspired Word of God of anyone ever losing God's promise of salvation. Acts 10:43, “To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.” If saved always saved!!!
Some people are foolishly going to put their faith in doing good works, but you can't get saved like that. Romans 3:19-20, “Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God. Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.” Please don't build your house upon the sand. Dear reader, you may build a beautiful, expense and exquisite mansion; but if it is built upon the sand instead of anchored into the deep bedrock, your house will be washed away and come tumbling down when the heavy rains come.
Many people (especially religious folks) are going to be greatly disappointed, horrified in fact, when they enter into eternity and find out that they cannot go to Heaven. Luke 13:23-24, “Then said one unto him, Lord, are there few that be saved? And he said unto them, Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.” Billions of people mistakenly think that they can merit Heaven by doing good works, or by living the Christian life; but the Word of God says in Ephesians 2:8-9, “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” What a beautiful Bible passage!
Once you make the decision to receive Christ's sacrifice on the cross as payment for your sins, believing that Jesus raised up from the dead the third day, God works the supernatural miracle of the new birth. John 1:12-13, “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.” Salvation is of the Lord.
In Matthew 7:21-23, a group of people were horrified to find out that they were not born-again. They had lived the Christian life without ever experiencing the new birth. They were following Christ diligently, calling Him “Lord, Lord,” but they had never ceased from their own works to trust Him alone as their Savior. This is the same fatal error being made today by Pastor John MacArthur, Bob Jones University, Steve Pettit, Marty Herron and countless more foolish proponents of the Devil's lie of Lordship Salvation. Please listen to Pastor Ralph Yankee Arnold preach this excellent sermon called: “JESUS Versus John MacArthur.”
Dear friend, if you are saved you couldn't go to Hell if you tried. You may decide to go live in all manner of what some people call “deep sin,” but God's grace will much more abound Romans 5:20, “Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound: That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.” I love that so much—WHERE SIN ABOUNDED, GRACE DID MUCH MORE ABOUND!!!! You cannot sin beyond the depth of God's grace. We are not saved because WE are faithful, but because GOD is faithful.
God never makes anybody do anything. God invites all men to be freely saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. 2nd Timothy 2:13, “If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself.” God abideth faithfully. GOD IS FAITHFUL dear reader. We all must die someday and then the judgment (Hebrews 9:27). Are you ready friend? Do you know 100% that if you died right now, that you would go to Heaven? I know, and so can you. If you would like to know too, then please read this precious sermon by Pastor Curtis Hutson (1934-1995) called: “The One Thing That Determines Salvation.”
