James 4:13-14, “Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain: Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.”
I was saddened to read in the news today about Dustin Diamond. The popular actor was only 44 years old. He learned on January 15th 2021 that he had stage 4 cancer, and three weeks later he passed away. I didn't know cancer could go from first being detected to death in just three weeks. I am sad for Dustin's family. Life is so short and unpredictable. I am still processing that Eddie Van Halen died last year. Life goes so fast, especially as we grow older. Looking back, I don't know where the past 20 years have gone so fast.
Dear friend, are you ready to meet your Maker? Isaiah 51:12-13, “I, even I, am he that comforteth you: who art thou, that thou shouldest be afraid of a man that shall die, and of the son of man which shall be made as grass; And forgettest the LORD thy maker, that hath stretched forth the heavens, and laid the foundations of the earth; and hast feared continually every day because of the fury of the oppressor, as if he were ready to destroy? and where is the fury of the oppressor?” God is our Creator.
Life is so short! Lord willing I will turn 54 on March 5th, 2021. My life is almost over. My Mom lived to be 65. My Dad lived to be 76. How much time can I have left? I could die of a heart attack and be in eternity by sundown today. We just don't know. James 4:13-14, “Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain: Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.” I beseech you dear reader to make sure you are saved. You don't have to live a certain way to prove that you're saved. In fact, if you have to prove you're saved by looking at your life, it just proves that you're not! Salvation is the gift of God.
Jesus paid it all. The way to be saved is to come as a guilty sinner to God, and wholly rest in Jesus' name, believing that He died on the cross to pay for your sins, was buried, and three days later He bodily resurrected (1st Corinthians 15:1-6). We are all guilty and needy sinners. Jesus is the blessed Savior. Any needy sinner who comes to the Lord by faith, receiving His sacrifice upon the cross as payment for your sins, is saved (Romans 10:9-13). I don't know where Dustin Diamond went in eternity. I couldn't find anything online about what or who he trusted in for Heaven, or if he even believed in Heaven. I do not know. I sure hope he was a born-again Christian, but I don't know. I wrote this article friend so that YOU CAN KNOW!
