Where Was The Perfect & Inerrant Bible Before 1611?

Psalms 12:6-7, The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.” Psalms 119:140, “Thy word is very pure: therefore thy servant loveth it.

This is a common argument that King James Bible critics use—Where was the perfect and inerrant Bible before the year 1611? I believe that God has kept His promise in Psalms 12:6-7 to preserve His inspired “pure words” forever, by giving us the King James Bible translation in English. Since critics maintain that there was no perfect and infallible Bible before the King James Bible, then the King James Bible itself cannot be the perfect inspired Words of God, any more than their multi-choice and contradictory Bible versions. Keep in mind that King James Bible critics don't believe that there ever was a perfect, infallible and inspired Bible. They don't defend their ASV, RSV, NASV, NIV, ERV, ESV, NET, HCSB or the Daffy Duck version as being the 100% true innerant words of God in comparison to the other versions. Most of them don't claim to have an infallible Bible, but they taker offense that we do!

There are FOUR different positions that exist today on Bible infallibility:

  1. THE ORIGINALS ONLY POSITION

Such adherents confess that they believe in something that doesn't exist! If you take a look at their website, most Bible colleges and churches say that only the “original autographs” were inspired. This includes Pensacola Christian College, and The Crown College (Powel, Tennessee). The problem is that no one alive today has ever seen the original manuscripts. There is a woeful hypocrisy among King James Bible critics, who say that there are no perfect and infallible Bible translations, because that is in itself a form of “onlyism.” To deny that we have a perfect, inspired and infallible Bible today is much worse than to believe God has given us an incorruptible Book of the Lord.

  2. ALL RELIABLE BIBLE VERSIONS ARE INSPIRED AND INFALLIBLE.

This is what Bob Jones University believes. Adherents of this faulty position say all reliable Bible versions are inspired and infallible Words of God. This obviously cannot be right, because all of the modern revisions contradict each other constantly. This is intellectual suicide, which requires giving new meaning to old words. The modern versions change the meaning of hundreds of ancient word meanings.

  3. THE WORDS OF GOD ARE PRESERVED IN THE REMAING ANCIENT MANUSCRIPTS.

This is the position of Dr. James White and Missionary David Cloud. These are Bible agnostics. Their position is on the same level as saying that God's Words are preserved in Webster's unabridged dictionary. That is, “They're in their someplace!” The truth is that among the literally thousands of remaining manuscripts (partial books, scraps, sections and pieces of the Bible), there are literally thousands upon thousands of very real and serious variant readings. And nobody is really sure of which one's are God's words or not. The fact is that the modern Bible versions are based on the constantly changing theory of what is called, “the science of textual criticism.” They have no fixed and settled text. What they do have, can and does change, on a slightest whim, and no two modern scholars are agreed on what the New Testament should look like.

  4. THERE DOES EXIST A COMPLETE, INSPIRED & INERRANT AND 100% TRUE HOLY BOOK

This is the Christian Fundamentalist position, which I believe. History evidences the King James Bible as being man's final written authority—the true Words of the Living God. You only have these four options regarding the Bible. There are no other alternatives for you to go with.

Here are FIVE popular views about the Bible:

  1. THE ROMAN CATHOLIC VIEW - They believe the holy mother church and tradition define what is in the Scripture.
  2. THE LIBERAL VIEW - The Bible is fill of myths and legends.
  3. THE NEO-ORTHODOX VIEW - The real issue is what the Bible teaches nd not its historic accuracy.
  4. THE NEO-FUNDAMENTALIST VIEW - All of the fundamentals are in the Bible despite all its mistakes and errors. This is the view held by most Christians today.

All of these four preceding views share a common denominator—You don't actually have the Word of God in your hands, the Bible merely contains the Word of God.

  5. THE FUNDAMENTALIST BIBLE BELIEVER'S VIEW - We do have the inspired words of God in our hands. This is the historical position of Christians, that God's Word is inspired today. God's Book of the Lord—the authorized King James Holy Bible—accept no substitutes!
History evidences very obviously that God's hand is upon the King James Bible. No other translation can even compare! If God has given us an inspired Book, it is the King James Bible, and no other translation comes even close! The King James Bible is THE BOOK! Isaiah 55:8-9, “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. There's a huge difference between the wisdom of God and the wisdom of men. What saith the Scripture? ...

1st Corinthians 1:18-21, “For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent. Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?

Admittedly, the Book of the Lord was in a rather lengthy process of being perfected and brought to full maturity into the English language. We believe that the King James Bible was and is the completely product. In general terms, the Bible versions that existed before the perfection of the King James Bible, followed the same Hebrew text and traditional Greek text.

For example: The most powerful and clear passage of Scripture regarding the Trinity (Godhead) is 1st John 5:7, “For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.” This vital passage proclaiming the deity of Jesus Christ has been sinfully removed from all of the modern Bible revisions, but it existed in The Wycliffe Bible (1395), The Tyndale Bible (1525), The Coverdale Bible (1535), The Great Bible (1539), The Matthew Bible (1537), The Geneva Bible (1560), The Bishops Bible (1568), even the Catholic Douay-Rheims Bible (1582) contained the full words of 1st John 5:7. Only these modern Devil's Bible removed this precious passage of Scripture. The older Bible translations before the 1611 King James Bible were much more closer to the truth, than all of these modern Bible perversions!

King James Bible only critics claim that if there was no perfect Bible before the 1611 King James Bible, then our positions blows up or falls to the ground. However, their thinking is flawed. They are guilty of using the wisdom of men rather than the wisdom of God. Their thinking is decided unbiblical. Was there a perfect Bible consisting of the present 66 book canon in the year 90AD? No, not all of the Bible had even been written yet! Why didn't god allow the printing press to be invented until 1455 AD? Most Christians weren't blessed to have a fully printed copy of the Bible until the year 1550 AD. Why did God wait so long? He's God, He's in control of history (HIS-STORY). There wasn't any formal church agreement, on the present-day Protestant Bible consisting of 66 Books, until1563 AD. In the wisdom of God, something can be in the process or even non-existent, and yet God calls it “done.” This is the wisdom of God, which is totally contrary to the wisdom and ways of men.

Bible prophecy is history written in advance! God refers to the book of the Lord before it was even completed. Isaiah 34:16, “Seek ye out of the book of the LORD, and read: no one of these shall fail, none shall want her mate: for my mouth it hath commanded, and his spirit it hath gathered them.” What exactly was this book of the Lord at Isaiah's time in history? Was it all the books of the Bible written up until the time of Isaiah? Was it just the book of Isaiah? In either case, the Bible as we know it today was not a completed book. The New Testament hadn't even been written, yet God calls it “the Book of the Lord and commands us to read it! God sees the end from the beginning, referring to a future event (from our point of view) as a present reality. God can and does refer to the Book of the Lord as being a real object, even though it is still in the process of being written and perfected.

I love the next Bible verse. Daniel 10:21 and 11:2a, “But I will shew thee that which is noted in the scripture of truth: and there is none that holdeth with me in these things, but Michael your prince. ... And now will I shew thee the truth.John 17:17, “Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.” Here the angel refers to a Book of Scripture that is already written in Heaven, and that is progressively revealed to man. Psalms 119:88-89, “Quicken me after thy lovingkindness; so shall I keep the testimony of thy mouth. For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven.” This Scripture of truth has already recorded coming events before they happen in time. Nothing takes God by surprise, He sees the end from the beginning. There is a completely Book in Heaven, that God progressively reveals to His people in time and history.

Satan's goal is to undermine and change the truth of God into a lie (Romans 1:25). That is why the Devil in his subtilty has inspired sincerely misguided men to publish hundreds of English Bible versions. Eve was sincere when she ate the forbidden fruit, which ruined her life (Genesis 3:1-5). Proverbs 16:25, “There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death. The road to Hell is paved with good intentions (Matthew 7:21-23; Luke 13:23-24)

In the Bible, many times God speaks of future events in past tense, as if they had already happened. God lives in eternity whereas man lives in the created element of time (Revelation 10:6). For example: Genesis 17:5, “Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee.” God speaks here of future events in past tense, as if they had already accomplished. This promise to Abraham would not be fulfilled for thousands of years. Romans 4:17, “(As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.”

Psalms 12:6-7, “The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.” I believe these verses have a double fulfilment. That is, at the time David penned these words, the Bible was incomplete. It wouldn't be until over 1,000 years later that the Bible would be completed in 96 AD with the completion of the book of Revelation. Many of the Messianic prophecies were not understood in the Old Testament until after they had happened. I like the saying: The Old Testament is the New Testament concealed; the New Testament is the Old Testament revealed. That is a helpful way of looking at the Bible.

It is important for you dear reader to understand these truths, to answer the $64,000 question: Where was the perfect and inerrant Bible before the year 1611? If God was going to keep His promise to keep His “pure words” from this generation forever, then He must have included, what He knew would be written in the future, as a present reality—the Words of the Lord. Please don't miss this truth dear friend...

If God was going to keep His promise to keep His “pure words” from this generation forever, then He must have included what He knew would be written in the future, as a present reality—the Words of the Lord.

Obviously, God's Words over the centuries have become corrupted through false readings, omissions and additions. That is true of the whole manuscript tradition. If God did not purify His Word, there never would have been a perfect Holy Bible. Please read, 'The Blood Sprinkled Book.' I was compelled with joy to write this article, after hearing an incredible MP3 sermon by Pastor Al Lacy (1933-2016) titled: 'THE BLOOD SPRINKLEDD BOOK!' Pastor Lacy explains that THE BOOK of the Lord must be purified with the blood of the Lamb. Our beloved and inspired King James Bible is very pure, the fulfillment of God's promise. By the way, take a look at what the Devil's bibles have done to corrupt Psalms 12:6-7, removing the Lord's solemn promise to keep and preserve His pure words forever.

The following is another example of future Bible prophecy (events which have not yet happened), in past tense, as if they have already completed. ...

Ephesians 2:4-7, “But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.

God speaks of this glorious redemption and new life from the dead, as being a present reality that has already been accomplished. Yet, multiplied millions of us (believers) hadn't even been born yet when these Scriptures were penned. In the same way, the King James Bible believer does not need to someone trace all the way back in history, to find any perfect and inerrant Bible that existed before God brought the finished product of the King James Bible on the scene in 1611. The sovereign God of history sees the end from the beginning. And He can refer to the true Book of the Lord, even when from our point of view, it wasn't yet complete or perfected. As the King James translators themselves wrote in their preface:

“Truly good Christian reader, we never thought from the beginning that we should need to make a new translation, nor yet to make of a bad one a good one, ... but to make a good one better, or out of many good ones, one principal good one, not justly to be excepted against; that hath been our endeavour, that our mark.”

The King James translators also wrote in their preface to the King James Bible:

“nothing is begun and perfected at the same time, and the later thoughts are thought to be the wiser; so, if we building upon their foundation that went before us, and being holpen by their labours, do endeavor to make that better which they left so good, no man, we are sure, hath cause to mislike us; they, we persuade ourselves, if they were alive, would thank us. ...the same will shine as gold more brightly being rubbed and polished.”

I don't hold the King James Bible translators as my final authority. They were good and godly men, just like the imperfect men who gave us the original autographs. God took sinful men and made them holy to pen the Bible. It is God alone Who knows the end from the beginning. Isaiah 46:9-10, “Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me, Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure: I love that! God declared from ancient times things that are not yet done. That's my awesome and omnipotent God. Dear reader, you don't have to know what will happen tomorrow, simply trust God Who does!

The Lord promised in Psalms 12:6-7 to give us a perfect Bible. We read in Matthew 4:4, But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.” If we are to live by EVERY WORD that proceeded out of the mouth of God, then we must have an EVERY WORD Bible!!! Either God has given us a perfect, inspired and infallible Bible, or He hasn't. God made us a promise in Psalms 12:6-7 to keep and preserve His pure words from this generation forever. The fact that all of the Devil's modern revisions change and remove this promise, saying that God protects the saints instead of preserving His Words, plainly evidences foul play and wickedness!

1st Corinthians 1:19-21, “For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent. Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?” It is the barren (no soulwinning) intellectual bunch, deeper-life theologians, who insist that we don't have a complete, innerant, perfect, infallible and inspired Bible. Only the King James Bible believer consistently, historically and logically stands for the doctrinal truths that God has kept His promises to preserve His inspired Words; and that there really exists such a thing as a complete, inerrant and 100% true and accurate Holy Bible!!!

Remember God says: I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent. Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?” Even God Who calleth those things that be not, as though they were. Romans 4:17b, “even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.” I want to thank Evangelist Will J. Kinney for his website ministry, from which I obtained most of this information to write this blog article. God bless you my dear brother!

John 14:1-6, “Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know. Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way? Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
