Add Thou Not Unto His Words, Lest You Be A Liar

Proverbs 30:5-6, “Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him. Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.

One of the most horrible sins anyone can commit is to corrupt God's inspired Words by ADDING to them what God did not say. I cannot think of a more obvious example than the popular heresy today, that says a person must “turn from your sins to receive God's free gift of eternal life. Since it is a gift, nothing can be required to obtain it, otherwise it would merely be a trade or an exchange of sorts. You cannot show me one verse in the Holy Bible that says to repent of your sins or turn from your sins to be saved.

That is, if you have a reliable Bible. The King James Bible is the verbally inspired Word of God. Satan's tactics have always been infiltration and imitation. The Devil during the twentieth century has infiltrated the churches, imitating the Word of God with literally hundreds of English Bible revisions. If the Devil had introduced all these new Bible versions at once, the churches would have quickly rejected all of them. But Satan is subtle, knowing that while one generation passes away from the scene, the next younger generation will embrace what the previous generation sinfully tolerated. It was a famous author Mark Twain who rightly said: “What one generation tolerates, the next generation will embrace.” So true! That is why I make such a big fuss over the King James Bible. If we tolerate these corrupted modern perversions, the next generation will embrace them like spiritual cyanide!

For example: Here again is Hebrews 6:1 in the beloved, correct, King James Bible:

KING JAMES BIBLE (KJB) — Hebrews 6:1, “Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God.” [emphasis added]

Now carefully read what the horribly corrupt Easy-To-Read Version (ERV) says, and please notice what the translators ADDED to God's Word:

EASY-TO-READ VERSION (ERV) — “So we should be finished with the beginning lessons about Christ. We should not have to keep going back to where we started. We began our new life by turning away from the evil we did in the past and by believing in God.” [emphasis added]

The word “repent in the Bible doesn't mean to turning away from the evil we did in the past, it is the Greek word metanoia, which means a change of mind,” nothing more. There is nothing in the word metanoia that means to forsake one's old ways.

Again, here is a comparison of Mark 1:15 in the King James Bible and the ERV. As you can clearly see, wicked men have ADDED to God's Words what He didn't say:

KING JAMES BIBLE (KJB) — Mark 1:15, “And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.” [emphasis added]

EASY-TO-READ VERSION (ERV) — Mark 1:15, “He said, “The right time is now here. God’s kingdom is very near. Change your hearts and lives, and believe the Good News!” [emphasis added]

Really? I have to change my life to be saved? Doesn't that constitute works? You better believe it does! The Bible teaches that Jesus came to save us from our sins, and not we from ourselves! Matthew 1:21, “And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.” That is why Jesus is justly called “the Saviour of all men.” 1st Timothy 4:10, “For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe.I love that Scripture! Jesus is the Savior of all men, but ESPECIALLY of them that believe! Oh dear friend, if you perish in your sins and spend eternity burning in the fires of Hell, it will only be because you wilfully rejected the blessed Savior's sacrifice on the cross as payment for your sins. Jesus paid it all! Christ died for the ungodly (Romans 5:6-9).

It is a horrible sin to ADD to God's Word!
