1st Peter 1:23, “Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently: Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.”
There is a false teaching going around in many neo-evangelical churches today, calling the Gospel “a journey.” The shameful Harvest Baptist Church on Guam promotes this garbage on their website. They advertise: “Join us on a Gospel journey!” You won't find that terminology anywhere in the Word of God. The Gospel is not a journey dear friend, it is a new birth in Christ Jesus. Our text passage from 1st Peter 1:23b says, “Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.” The new birth is instantaneous and does not require continued repentance, nor faithfully running the race, nor enduring to the end, nor turning from your sins, nor anything else! It is a free gift!!! Getting saved is a spiritual birth, not a journey.
Also dear reader, you cannot be born-again from corruptible seed, as you just read. Harvest Baptist Church is saturated with the Devil's modern corrupt Bible versions. They are a house divided, which the Lord said cannot stand (Matthew 12:25). There is not a more shameful institution in America today than Bob Jones University. I am shocked that the owners of the college brought in a damnable heretic like Evangelist Steve Pettit, who is hardcore Lordship Salvation and a big fan of Pastor John MacArthur. The Devil didn't have to creep into BJU, they invited him right through the front door with honors. This is exactly what Dr. Bob Jones Sr. warned would happen in 1944:
“He [Jude] said, well it was 'needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith, which once for all [was] delivered unto the saints.'
Now wait a minute, you've got something worth contending for! Isn't it strange that something so valuable and so wonderful as saving faith is something we that have to be exhorted to contend for? Why, if you had a diamond worth $5,000 you wouldn't leave it just lying around anywhere. If you had $1,000,000 in gold, you'd go put it in a vault. [If] Anybody tried to get it, you'd fight to keep them from gettin' it. And we just sit down and just let people steal the faith that Christians have, and never bother about it. Some of us pay 'em to do that! Some of us pay preachers to stand in the pulpit and steal the faith of the saints of God, and send our children to Hell. The most crooked crook on God Almighty's earth is a preacher who stands in a Trinitarian pulpit, and steals the faith of people!
You know I've said it many a time; if I was up in Heaven, fifty years from now (and the Lord tarried), and any religious liberal ever sat in a classroom in this institution, and tried to disseminate his infidelity, I'd ask God Almighty to excuse me for a little while, and I'd come back down to this school and get a stick of dynamite, and I'd blow it into smithereens! I'd rather see this school a heap of rubbish, just a little rubbish here and a little rubbish yonder, than see the time ever come we could be such softies, we'll sit down and let the Devil put his modernists and religious liberals in here to rob them of the faith. And yet that things going on in America, from one end of this country to the other!” [emphasis added] —Dr. Bob Jones Sr.; YouTube | MP4 | MP3
BJU is paying a 6-digit lucrative salary to Steve Pettit, so he can promote the heresy that the Gospel is a journey. Dr. Pettit does not understand the new birth. He is naive of the Gospel. Any man who preaches that childlike faith in Jesus Christ is insufficient to save someone is a liar!!! Steve Pettit doesn't believe in an instantaneous new birth! Read what he said:
“You can't just speak about getting saved, and you accepted Christ, and then that's it! There is a justification; There is a sanctification; There's ultimately a glorification, and though there are three parts, they are all part of the whole, and you cannot separate them. In order for you to qualify for the award, you have to get into the race, you have to stay in the race, and you have to finish the race. If you want to win, you have to run to the end; and winning in the Christian life is everything, because if you lose—if you don't finish—you lose everything—you lose your SOUL. And so, the Christian race is the life of faith that begins, is run, and is finished when we cross over into Heaven!” [emphasis added[ —Dr. Steve Pettit (“What Does It Mean To Run 'The Race'?” - 11:34)
Dr. Bob Jones Sr. would have shown Steve Pettit the door! Get out you infidel and don't come back! We are at war ladies and gentleman with neo-evangelicals today. We are at war over the inspiration of the Bible. We are at war over the meaning of the Gospel. We are at war over the meaning of repentance. We are at war over Biblical separation. I don't claim to be a good Christian, but God knows I am 100% sincere in my ministry. I am a loving, generous and kind person, despite my lack of patience. I thank God that I know THE TRUTH! Dr. Bob Jones Sr. said he would rather see his college reduced to a pile of rubbish, than to see some infidel get paid to stand behind the pulpit and steal the faith of the saints of God, sending people to Hell.
The Satanic English Standard Version (ESV) that Bob Jones University promotes (and Harvest Baptist Church on Guam as well) is corruptible seed. For example: The ESV teaches in 1st John 3:9 that you cannot be saved and continue living in sin. Only a fool believes such nonsense. What Christian is there who does not continue in sin? That's right, all of us (1st John 1:10). If you are saved, you still sin! The only difference is that now you have God's Holy Spirit living inside your body and soul, and He chastises you when you sin (Hebrews 12:6-8). There are Christians in prison serving life sentences for horrible crimes they've committed. Obviously they didn't turn from their sins as neo-evangelicals say you must if you're saved.
The Harvest Baptist Church on Guam are wrong to teach that the Gospel is a journey! Receiving God's free gift of eternal life is a new birth, not “a Gospel journey” (which implies that you have to run the race, which is exactly the garbage that Dr. Steve Pettit teaches at BJU, and Harvest promotes on their KHMG 88.1 FM radio station on Guam). This is not what the Bible teaches! The Gospel is not a journey which you must begin by faith, and then continue faithfully running in order to get the reward of Heaven. That is exactly verbatim what Steve Pettit teaches! Harvest Baptist Church is Bob Jones University on Guam. Dr. Jack Hyles is so right:
“The pastors have destroyed the churches, and they've been trained by people that have never built churches, and they have no compassion.” —Pastor Jack Hyles, “Many Pastors Have Destroyed My Vineyard”
When I heard Brother Hyles make that statement last night, while listening to him preach, I immediately thought about the Harvest Baptist Church on Guam (HBC) and their woeful lack of compassion toward me since 2014. Oh how I needed their love and acceptance as a human being between 2014-2018, but Pastor Marty Herron was cold-hearted and couldn't have cared less about me or my family. Pastor Herron literally shunned me away, telling me to “Go elsewhere.” What saith the Scripture? Romans 14:10, “But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.” Then he quit as pastor and moved to greener pastures at the Faith Baptist Bible College and Theological Seminary in Iowa, sucking a 6-digit salary as Executive Vice President, taking his secretary and assistant pastor with him, abandoning a sinking ship that he crashed into an iceberg of Lordship Salvation, on the treacherous sea of the Devil's corrupt Bible revisions. All I ever pleaded was to please let me attend the church services. Where dwelleth the love of God?
Ironically, Harvest's website today has a bunch of Bible verses about hating one's brother. Well, they sure hated me during 2014-2018, and evidently still do, because I am still not welcomed at their church. If anybody hates their brother, it is the pastors of Harvest. 1st John 2:11, “But he that hateth his brother is in darkness, and walketh in darkness, and knoweth not whither he goeth, because that darkness hath blinded his eyes.” For the record, I love everyone with God's unconditional love. I have NEVER one time failed to wave with love at all my Harvest neighbours. I love everyone. THEY (not me) are the one's who have refused to reconcile all these years. I have poured out my heart time and time again to them, and they have read my articles, but they won't have anything to do with me. I don't think they hate me, but I think they HATE THE TRUTH! The truth is only HATE to them that HATE THE TRUTH!!!
And now their new pastor Gary Walton is steering the church in the same neo-evangelical direction, just with different scenery, church decor, new ugly removable seats and an unimpressive website. They still use and bid Godspeed to corruptible seed. They still bid Godspeed to Devil preachers like Dr. John MacArthur and Dr. Steve Pettit. They still support the Lordship Salvation preached by Unshackled, Moody Bible Institute and Bob Jones University. I didn't choose this fight with Harvest Baptist Church and the Bob Jones' crowd, they chose this fight with me, by driving me out of HBC in 2014 and ostracizing me since (and that includes Pastor Gary Walton, who is no better).
When a female student said she was raped at BJU, she was expelled to silence her. That is what HBC has done to me. I am not being hateful against them for exposing their wickedness, I hate every false way (Psalm 119:104). There's a very big difference. That raped girl wasn't being hateful to complain afterwards about what BJU did to her, the college was being hateful to blame her instead. If there is any hatred, Harvest needs to look in the mirror.
Pastor Hyles was attacked maliciously in 1989 by neo-evangelicals. They have been relentless to destroy his name and legacy since. Here are Brother Hyles' own words:
“This isn't over Jack Hyles, this is over fundamentalism! These are evangelicals fighting fundamentalists—that's what it's all about; and their effort is to destroy Hyles-Anderson College. Over my dead body they'll destroy Hyles-Anderson College; and their effort is to destroy the First Baptist Church of Hammond, Indiana; and I'll go to the finish before I'll let it happen! That's what's going on!” —Dr. Jack Hyles, a truthful quote from the needful sermon, “Weathering The Storm!”
Harvest Baptist Church on Guam is following the same garbage theology of Dr. Steve Pettit (president of Bob Jones University). As is typical with neo-evangelicals, they have redefined Christianity to mean something different than what the Bible teaches. The new birth is not a journey. The Christian life is a journey, but we mustn't call the Gospel a journey, lest we confuse people to think they must live the Christian life to be saved.
