If Any Man Will Serve Jesus, He Must Follow Him

Matthew 16:24-26, “Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it. For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?” John 12:26, “If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour.”

The preceding popular Scripture passage is commonly misinterpreted. Sadly, even Dr. Steve Pettit (the new president of Bob Jones University since 2014), applies this passage to salvation, preaching a perverted gospel that requires surrendering all to Christ as “Lord” to be saved. That is absolutely NOT what the Bible is teaching here. Kindly said, Mr. Pettit is a false prophet who desperately needs to get saved. Like Pastor John MacArthur, Dr. Pettit has been deceived by religion, preaching partial faith in Christ plus works. These men are not born-again believers, they are cunning religious teachers who sincerely masquerade as saints, deceiving hundreds of thousands of people with their theological lies.

Please look again at one of our text Bible verses from Matthew 16:24, “Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.” Carefully notice that the Lord didn't say, “If any man will have eternal life.” Here's a helpful Scripture from John 12:26, “If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour.” Did you see that friend? Jesus said if any man will “SERVE ME”; He didn't mention getting saved here. The dear Lord told us how to be saved in John 6:47, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.”

Oh how simple are the Scriptures, if we don't listen to nincompoop neo-evangelical preachers and corrupted Calvinists!!! Jesus said if you desire to “SERVE ME,” then you must FOLLOW HIM! That is what Matthew 16:24-26 is about dear friend, serving the Lord, which will cost us everything! But the gift of eternal life is free. I am so sick and tired, and grieved in my soul, that most Baptist preachers today have it wrong! If you stick to the inspired King James Bible, and avoid neo-evangelical preachers and Calvinists, you won't be deceived. Everyone is rushing to purchase Dr. John MacArthur's Bible commentaries, and buy Evangelist Ray Comfort's evangelizing materials, but what saith the Scripture? SEARCH THE SCRIPTURES!!! John 5:39, “Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.”

We should be diligent and objectively minded, like the Bereans in the Bible. Acts 17:11, “These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.” I have been searching the Scriptures for years, and I still cannot find the garbage taught by John MacArthur, Steve Pettit, Marty Herron, Sam Horn, Ray Comfort, Ken Ham, John Piper, Paul Washer and Billy Graham, about turning from your sins to be saved. They are teaching manmade traditions which are not found in the inspired Word of God!!! It ain't there folks, there be no such animal!!!

I say this all with a humble spirit and a broken heart over heresy in the churches today, for if it weren't for the wondrous grace of God we would all be deceived. If sincere preachers who are good men, are being deceived by the Devil concerning the Gospel in these times of peace, just think how awful it will be in the future. Matthew 24:24, “For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.” Only unsaved men are deceived about Lordship Salvation, remember that! The Lordship Gospel only makes sense and resonates with the unregenerate mind. Every blood-washed saint of God fully knows that JESUS PAID IT ALL, and my only part in the new birth is to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ (Acts 16:30-31). My only part is to receive Christ's sacrifice on the cross as payment for my sins. Faith is the only righteous thing that I can do! I love you with God's unconditional love, whoever you may be. If you David J. Stewart, know the Bible especially The KJV why then do you go all out on preaching against homosexuality if you know with all your biblical understanding that Jesus paid it all on the cross for all humanity including the sin of homosexuality? Maybe I'm wrong, maybe Christ only died for ht heterosexual? Are you a double standard man?
