Being Justified By His Grace

Titus 3:3-7, “For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another. But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared, Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour; That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.”

Repeatedly in the Word of God we are plainly taught that salvation is simply BY FAITH. Titus 3:7 says that we are made heirs of the hope of eternal life BY FAITH... “being justified by his grace.” Galatians 3:26, “For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.” John 6:47, Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.” John 6:28-29, Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God? Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.”

I could quote a hundred more Scripture passages to you dear reader, that teach we are saved BY FAITH. But not once are we taught to “repent of your sin, or turn from your sins or be willing to turn from your sins to be saved. We are saved by God's grace alone, through faith alone, in Jesus Christ alone; but forsaking your sins is not necessary, nor required, nor permitted by God to be saved. Faith is the only righteous thing that I can do! Salvation is not doing your best, it is having Christ's best put to your account through receiving Him by faith. Eternal life is a gift wrapped in the wonderful package of Jesus!

I read this beautiful quote from Dr. Bob Jones Sr. this morning, about the Gospel:
“Men are not saved by analyzing the truth of the Gospel. They are saved by accepting the truth of the Gospel. It is true, whether men believe it or not. It is as true as the multiplication table. Men use the multiplication table to do what the multiplication table is supposed to do. The Gospel will do what it is supposed to do. 'It is the power of God unto salvation unto every one that believeth.'” —Dr. Bob Jones Sr., “Comments On Here And Hereafter,” chapter: Preaching, Evangelism, page 123; Bob Jones University Press, Inc., © 1942
The “Gospel” is the Good News that Jesus Christ died on the cross for our sins, He was buried, and three days later He bodily resurrected from the dead for our justification (that is, that our faith in Him would be justified by a risen Savior). Anyone who comes to God by faith as a needy sinner, receiving the Gospel as their only hope for Heaven, is saved. God promises forgiveness of sins and eternal life “TO THEM THAT BELIEVE” (1st Corinthians 1:21b). Please make it your own dear friend, claiming The Gospel as your only way to Heaven!
