There's Only One Mediator Between God And Men

1st Timothy 2:3-6, “For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.”

There is only ONE MEDIATOR between God and men, the man Christ Jesus. God is a Spirit, and man is a spirit, created in God's image. However, man is sinful and cannot fellowship with a holy God. Before he sinned, Adam walked with God is the Garden of Eden (Genesis 3:8). Sin brought separation between God and man (Isaiah 59:1-2). The Word of God became incarnate (flesh) and walked this earth in the person of Jesus Christ (John 1:1-3, 14). Mankind is sinful; God is holy. A mediator was needed to bridge the gap. Jesus is 100% a man, and also 100% God. As deity Jesus can communicate with God, because He is a part of the Godhead; as a man Jesus can communicate with humanity, because He is human as well. ...

Hebrews 4:14-16, “Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.”

Jesus Christ is the ONE MEDIATOR between God and man. There is no other means of reconciling with our holy God. Jesus has the nail-scared hands and feet. Jesus paid a debt He did not owe, because we owed a debt of sin we could not pay! That is why Jesus is our only mediator. God is absolutely holy. God's holiness demanded justice, because humanity had committed crimes against God. The world is a mess! We've all seen the wickedness of mankind race throughout human civilization. The reality of war is horrifying. Quadrillions of crimes have been commit throughout history; neighbour against neighbour, brother against brother, family against family, nation against nation. God's holiness demands justice! Crimes must be paid for. Jesus Christ paid for all those offenses. ...

Romans 5:6-8, “For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”

Christ did not die for the righteous (the saints), He died for the ungodly (everyone). The Calvinist heresy of “Limited Atonement” teaches that Jesus only died for Christians. We know that is a doctrine of devils. The Bible plainly teaches in 1st John 2:2, “And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.” Could the Bible be any plainer that Christ died FOR ALL MEN? I think not. Christ died for THE UNGODLY! That includes everyone!!! We are all ungodly sinners. Even if you are saved, you are still an ungodly sinner, but you have been cleansed by the precious blood of Jesus; so that when God sees you, He only sees the righteousness of His dear Sin imputed to you. Philippians 3:9, “And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:”

Having said all that, you should realize by now that no Lutheran minister can forgiven your sins. If you go look at their websites, Lutheran pastors claim to have the God-given power to forgive people's sins. They are theological liars! Who are you going to believe, the Lutheran minister who arrogantly claims he can forgive your sins, or 1st Timothy 2:5 that says Jesus Christ is the 'ONE MEDIATOR' between God and men? Likewise, the Catholic priest arrogantly claims to have the same power to forgive sins. Even the unsaved reprobate religious Pharisees understood that only God can forgive sins. Mark 2:7, “Why doth this man thus speak blasphemies? who can forgive sins but God only?”

So if you want to receive eternal life dear reader, you MUST come only to the blessed Savior. John 14:6, “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” If you desire to go to Heaven someday, then you have only one choice according to the Scripture, and that choice is through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ!!!

The Lutheran minister cannot make you right with God. The Catholic pope or priest cannot make you right with God. I have had a few web visitors want me to assure them that they are saved, but I cannot do that. Only God's written promises in His Word can give someone the sweet assurance that they are God's child. So I teach the Bible the best I can, and share as many books, sermons and resources as I can, and encourage them to do their own Bible study; they have to settle their doubts on their own. It is not good for someone to look to me, and put their confidence in me that I SAID THEY ARE SAVED. Who am I? Everyone needs to place their faith in God, and base that belief solely on the written inspired Word of God.

I think some people with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) have a faith problem. Since they refuse to go on faith alone, they opt instead for something they can see, a preacher they can trust, a wafer they can eat, a water baptism certificate they can frame on their wall, a person (priest) to tell them they are forgiven, et cetera. Salvation is strictly by faith in a Savior we cannot see (1st Peter 1:7-9). We get saved by ceasing from all dead works (good and bad works alike), and resting in Christ alone, as God rested on the seventh day from His creative labours in Genesis chapters 1-2.

Salvation is found ONLY in the precious name of Jesus. Acts 10:43, “To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.” When a corrupt preachers lies to you, by saying that you must “turn from your sins” to be saved, he is trying to convince you to become your own mediator. Christ is the one and only mediator, not anyone else. Giving up your sins is a work of self-righteousness, and not the free gift of God. What is wrong with so many preachers today?
