Bob Jones University Has Gone To The Devil

2nd John 1:11, “For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.

On March 5th, 2020 (my birthday coincidentally), Dr. Steve Pettit invited former Planned parenthood director Abby Johnson to speak at BJU. I can understand that BJU might invite her because they are against abortion, but what happened at BJU was unbelievable! ...

On January 23, 2020, BJU invited the public on campus to screen the movie 'Unplanned' created by pro-life advocate Abby Johnson. Then on March 5, 2020, BJU hosted the Piedmont Women's Center (PWC) for their fundraising event. The speaker for the evening was Abby Johnson. During the event, Johnson "preached the gospel". On stage, displayed on a banner, were the words of Isaiah 43:19. Johnson said, "We must give the gospel to these ladies, not the watered-down Jesus but the powerful Jesus...everyone here is a sinner and in the need of a savior". She used the words "cross, gospel, sinners, Jesus". —Machen White, 'BJU... Then And Now'

Dear reader, Roman Catholicism is NOT the Gospel of free grace. Catholics believe that you must keep Seven Sacraments to get to Heaven. That includes water baptism, confirmation, Holy Eucharist, confession, et cetera. The Bible does not teach these things. The Scriptures simply teach us to BELIEVE the 'Good News' that Jesus died on the cross in our place. He was buried, and three days later He bodily resurrected from the dead. That is the Gospel according to 1st Corinthians 15:1-4. Anyone who comes to God as a needy sinner, receiving Christ's sacrifice on the cross as payment for their sins, is immediately and forever saved. That is how you freely receive the gift of God, which is eternal life (Romans 5:15-18, 6:23; Ephesians 2:8-9). Anyone who comes along claiming that you must “turn from your sins” to receive the free gift of God is preaching another gospel. Sadly, Billy Graham went to Hell.

Instead of condemning Roman Catholicism as being of the Devil, Dr. Steve Pettit and Bob Jones University sinfully bid Godspeed to hellbound Catholics! In an interview with Fox Carolina News in February of 2018, Dr. Steve Pettit shamefully said:

"Billy Graham is a world renowned evangelist. Since my background is I'm an evangelist, I am thankful for his faithful preaching of the gospel, and his consistent lifestyle. ...I'm thankful for someone who has preached a clear gospel message... He's an evangelist, and he's spread the gospel throughout the world... My mother attended one of his crusades in Valdosta, Georgia, when she was a teenager girl, and she was able to hear the gospel at that time, for which I am thankful." [emphasis added] —Dr. Steve Pettit, Interview with Fox Carolina News (February 2018)

That is so shameful. Folks, Billy Graham preached another gospel of Lordship Salvation. In comparison (to show how much BJU has deteriorated), in March of 1966, Dr. Bob Jones Jr. (1911-1997) said Mr. Graham was "doing more harm to the cause of Jesus Christ than any living man," according to the archives of 'The Greenville News' and 'Time' magazine. How does that compare to Dr Pettit's statements in the interview with Fox Carolina shortly after Dr. Graham’s death on February 21st, 2018? It is shameful. Pastor Jack Hyles was absolutely right when he said: “The wrong crowd's composed of nice guys!” (Dr. Hyles, a quote from the sermon titled: “She Sojourned Seven Years”).

Billy Graham didn't faithfully preach the Gospel, he perverted it with works! God's curse is upon anyone who changes the Gospel of free grace, through simple childlike faith in Jesus Christ...

Galatians 1:6-9, “I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.”

Here is a beautiful quote from Evangelist Bob Jones Sr. (1883-1968):

“Young people, you can't buy salvation. You can't pay for it after you get it. But if you don't already have it, you can have it. Somebody is giving it away around here. His name is Jesus and He wants to give you salvation.

Before I stop I will use an illustration I have used many times here at the college.  Maybe those of you who have heard it have forgotten it.

Do you see this quarter? I want to give it to you. But I am a peculiar man. I just give away quarters one way. I put a quarter in a book, shut the book, and offer you the book. You don't want the book? Well, all right, you can't have my quarter, then. I have a right to put the quarter in any sort of package I wish. You, of course, have the privilege of rejecting the quarter.
God has something He wants to give you. It is eternal life. He wrapped it in the most wonderful package you ever heard of. He put it in Jesus. People looked at Jesus. He had no form or comeliness; there wasn't anything about Him to be desired. And they didn't realize what was wrapped up in that package. They put Jesus on a cross. They nailed Him there. They killed Him. Then He rose from the dead, and He has been scarred ever since that time. If you could see Jesus today, the glorified, risen Son of God, you would find scars on His brow and scars in His hands. If you could look at His side you would find a wound there. His feet are scarred. But, say, He has wrapped in Himself a wonderful gift. God gives you eternal life when you take Him. Eternal life is wrapped up in Christ.” —Dr. Bob Jones Sr., “Things I Have Learned: Chapel Talks,” pages 222-223; Bob Jones University Press, ©1945

Amen and amen! That was so simply, beautiful and eloquently said. Dr. Bob Jones Sr. preached the simplicity that is in Jesus Christ (2nd Corinthians 11:3-4). It is tragic and shameful that reprobate neo-evangelicals have infiltrated, corrupted and taken over Bob Jones University today. They don't preach the true Gospel. Instead they preach a partial faith in Christ plus works type of counterfeit salvation, that demands for a person to “turn from your sins to be saved.

On March 30, 2020 Dr. Steve Pettit warned 2,700 BJU students in chapel, that "perpetual liars" will go to Hell. Mr. Pettit misquotes Revelation 21:8. In fact, the inspired King James Bible does not say "perpetual liars," it says "all liars" shall have their part in the Lake which burneth with fire and brimstone, which is the second death. ALL LIARS!!! If you tell even one lie you are a LIAR! James 2:10 confirms this truth, teaching that violating even one of God's commandments, makes one guilty of breaking ALL. Even one sin is enough to keep a person out of the Kingdom of God. That is why we need a Savior! So in God's eyes, you are either a hellbound sinner for the least amount of sin; or else God sees the imputed righteousness of Jesus Christ, no matter how many sins you commit (Romans 5:20).

The reason why Steve Pettit thinks "perpetual liars" go to Hell is because he has a corrupt understanding of the Gospel. In Mr. Pettit's mind (just like Seventh-Day Adventist prophetess Ellen G. White), he thinks salvation requires forsaking your sinful ways, so if you are still living a lifestyle of perpetual sinning, he says you're not saved. That is the demonic mindset of the Calvinist (aka., Lordship Salvation). The Bible teaches that when someone BELIEVES on Jesus Christ, he is JUSTIFIED FROM ALL THINGS! Acts 13:39, “And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses.

Sadly, from all that I have seen, over 95% of professed Christians today are indifferent and couldn't care less about right doctrine. The majority of the Bob Jones camp couldn't care less about THE TRUTH! They make light of the inspiration of the Bible. As I showed you with Abby Johnson, they hobnob with unsaved Catholics, bidding them Godspeed. I believe it is because they love money. The Scripture warns us in 1st Timothy 6:10 that the LOVE OF MONEY is the ROOT OF ALL EVIL. Steve Pettit, Marty Herron, John MacArthur, Sam Horn... these apostates all get paid 6-digit annual salaries. Mr. MacArthur has a net worth of $14,000,000. Is Your Church A Religious Cult? Harvest Baptist Church on Guam is part of the group I just mentioned. They are all BJU graduates, praising and bidding Godspeed to the aforementioned reprobates of the faith. Kindly said, they are all going to Hell in their counterfeit gospel (Matthew 7:21-23). That is what the Bible teaches (Romans 3:19-20).

At one time long ago, Bob Jones University was considered the citadel of Christian fundamentalism in America, but today has deteriorated into a Calvinist cesspool of false doctrine, counterfeit Bible revisions, indifference, ecumenical compromise, and preaching another gospel of Lordship Salvation. Woe unto the Bob Jones' camp! I love you all with God's unconditional love, but you have changed, pulling on the same rope as the Devil.
