Jesus Warned That Few People Will Enter Into Heaven

Matthew 7:13-15, “Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.” Luke 13:23-24, “Then said one unto him, Lord, are there few that be saved? And he said unto them, Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.”

I have observed an astonishing phenomena in Baptist churches my entire life—pastors and congregations embracing and tolerating the most heretical of doctrines. The Apostle Paul said that they didn't tolerate the perverse gospel even for one hour. Galatians 2:4-5, “And that because of false brethren unawares brought in, who came in privily to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage: To whom we gave place by subjection, no, not for an hour; that the truth of the gospel might continue with you.” I wish we had more caring Christians today, like Paul, who understand the importance of nipping heresy in the bud quickly, lest it take root and spread.

Paul tells us why he refused to tolerate heresy in verse 5—that THE TRUTH OF THE GOSPEL might continue. Paul understood that a little leaven leaventh the whole lump. Galatians 5:7-9, “Ye did run well; who did hinder you that ye should not obey the truth? This persuasion cometh not of him that calleth you. A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump.” Paul is speaking about the truth of the Gospel here. The apostle is rebuking the churches of Galatia for allowing a religious cult to infiltrate and find acceptance with them. Paul warns them that a little ferment (bacteria) will eventually spoil the whole (whether it be bread, juice or a local church). Heresy is just like cancer, it spreads, destroying good tissue as it progresses. Paul is teaching believers the importance of Bible doctrinal soundness. Paul is effectively saying, “Right doctrine matters!”

With these truths in mind, it will help us to better understand the Lord's words of warning in Matthew 7:13-15. Jesus said that “few” people ever find the narrow way unto eternal life. Evangelist Ray Comfort perverts this passage of Scripture, errantly teaching that the “narrow way” refers to living a separated life from sin. Dear reader, that is not what Jesus meant. The way is narrow because men complicate everything, and the Gospel is very simple (2nd Corinthians 11:3-4). How simple? Read for yourself in John 3:16, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” Faith is the only righteous thing that I can do. 

Yet, Ray Comfort horribly teaches that you must turn away from your sinful behavior, and LIVE A LIFESTYLE of abstaining from sin your entire life, to prove that your faith is genuine. Ray Comfort is preaching the Devil's lies of John Calvin (aka, Calvinism). If you have to look at your life to prove that you are saved, it proves that you're not! We are saved by God's righteousness through faith alone in Christ (Philippians 3:9). My friend, you don't have to turn away from your sins to be saved, you must be 100% sinless and perfect. That is why when asked who can be saved, Jesus said it is IMPOSSIBLE!!! ...

Matthew 19:24-25, “And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God. When his disciples heard it, they were exceedingly amazed, saying, Who then can be saved? But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.”

So you see, you cannot save yourself, nor does God permit you to play any part in getting saved, except to get out of the way and rest in the finished redemptive work of Christ (Hebrews 4:10-11). Christ died on the cross, was buried and three days later He physically resurrected from the dead. This is the Gospel, the GOOD NEWS (1st Corinthians 15:1-4). Getting saved is so free, easy and simple that even a small child can do it (2nd Timothy 3:15). Pastor John MacArthur's false plan of salvation is so costly, hard and complicated, that he says children cannot be saved. This is why Jesus called the Gospel “the narrow way,” and said “strait is the gate” which leadeth unto life. ...

Millions of phony churches around the world have been infiltrated, corrupted and destroyed by the Devil's lies of Wrong Repentance, Lordship Salvation and doing Good Works to be saved. It never ceases to frustrate me to hear advocates of Lordship Salvation (which sadly includes the corrupt Bob Jones University crowd), still maintain that salvation is by grace alone, while adding a bunch of requirements to faith that God doesn't ask. Adding anything more to God's simple plan of salvation by childlike faith is a perversion of God's grace. Jesus warned in Matthew 7:13-14 that “few” people will be in Heaven in eternity. In Luke 13:23-24 Jesus said that “many” people will seek to enter into the gates of Heaven, but will be denied entrance. Can you imagine? It will be horrific. There will be lifelong missionaries, pastors and religious people by the billions, all trying to enter into the Pearly City, but won't be able to. Why? Jesus gives us the answer:

Matthew 7:21-23, “Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.” 

What is the heavenly Father's will? I'm glad you asked my fine non-feathered friend. Jesus again gives us the answer in John 6:40, “And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.” God's will is to simply BELIEVE (rely, rest upon) Jesus to have the free gift of eternal life. That is why Jesus said the way is narrow and the gate is strait, because it is so simple to be saved that most men miss it. That is what it means to be “fallen from grace” in Galatians 5:4. Advocates of the heresies of Wrong Repentance and Lordship Salvation are fallen from grace—they have missed the only bus going to Heaven, they are subverted of themselves, hellbound in their partial faith in Christ plus: turning from sins, following Jesus, surrendering all to Christ as “Lord,” paying the cost, running the race faithfully to the end and exchanging all that you are for all that Christ is. 

Literally, all of the preceding unbiblical additional requirements to be saved are what Steve Pettit, John MacArthur, Ray Comfort and Marty Herron preach. I have all their damnable quotes!!! Oh why won't churchgoers wake up and heed the truth that I (and free grace preachers like me) preach from the Word of God? 

God does not save anyone who has partial faith in Christ. I like to use the Chair Illustration. Let's say for the sake of illustration (humor me), that you need to replace a defective lightbulb in your home. You don't have a step ladder, so you use a chair. I've often done that myself. How much faith do you need to get up upon the chair? Just enough to actually do it! Likewise, that is all the faith you need to be saved, JUST ENOUGH to obey God by believing (placing your reliance upon) the GOOD NEWS of Christ crucified on the cross, buried and bodily risen three days later for our justification. Come to God as a guilty sinner and believe the Gospel and you are saved!!! It's that simple oh sinner.

Now, it wouldn't matter if you had 99% doubt in a chair's ability to hold you up, you would be placing no less than 100% of your faith in the chair if you stood upon it unaided. Faith is not the presence of optimism, it is the presence of obedience. I may not have much confidence in a chair, but if I get up and place all my weight upon it, I have trusted it completely! The same is true with receiving God's gift of eternal life. The Lord doesn't demand that you rid your mind of all doubts and fears. It wouldn't be faith without doubts and concerns. Faith is taking God at His Word, as written in the Holy Bible, simply receiving Christ's sacrifice on the cross as payment for your sins. Isn't that simple and beautiful. 

As hard as it is for many people to grasp, it is possible to serve Jesus your entire life and still burn in Hell forever. That is exactly what we see in Matthew 7:21-23. These were not bad people! They were not criminals. They tried to defend themselves at the judgment, telling Jesus that they did “MANY WONDERFUL WORKS” throughout their earthly life. They even called Jesus “LORD, LORD” (there's your Lordship Salvation crowd in the Bible). Jesus heard all their excuses. These were dedicated religious people, wholly committed to serving Christ. Yet, look at the horrifying words Jesus said to them in verse 23, “I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.” Will Jesus also someday deny knowing you as one of His sheep? You now know THE TRUTH and can become (if you're not already), one of THE FEW. Our churches today are filled with deceived people, who think that they have a part in saving themselves, by continuing to prove that their faith is real by living a holy life. Dear friend, what would be the evidence that my faith is real to stand upon a chair? Why, it would be the very act of me getting up to stand on the chair. Likewise, the evidence of a person's genuine faith in Jesus is faith itself, and nothing else! 

The heretical notion that a professed believer is required to prove the reality of their faith, by faithfully running the race (living the Christian life) is a false gospel. This is classic Calvinist heresy! The Bible says a believer SHOULD serve Christ; Calvinism says a believer WILL serve Christ; Catholics say you MUST do good works to be saved. JESUS PAID IT ALL!!! Self has no place in God's free simple plan of salvation. We are saved by God's imputed righteousness, and not by any goodness, effort, merit, sacrifice or self-righteousness of our own. We have nothing worthwhile to offer God (Isaiah 64:6). The ONLY thing that you and I contribute to salvation is the sin that made it necessary! Between me and the flames of Hell is the precious blood of Jesus which was shed on the cross of Calvary!

The Greatest Thing You Will Ever Do In Life

1st Corinthians 3:5-9, “Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers by whom ye believed, even as the Lord gave to every man? I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase. So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase. Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour. For we are labourers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building.”

Every man is reached by some man. Somebody somehow had to hear the Gospel in some way to get saved. That's the great thing anybody could ever do their entire life, to have somebody believe the Gospel because we shared it with them. I often receive emails from people who tell me that they got saved through my ministry. I cannot even out in words the great joy that floods my soul when I hear such precious testimonies. That is why I do what I do, tirelessly without monetary recompense, because I want to see people get saved. Romans 10:1, “Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved.”

Neither you or I have ever saved anybody. We might sow, or water the seed sown by another, or we may have the privilege of reaping that soul to Christ. We are laboring together with the Lord. The Bible says he that planteth and he that waters ARE ONE. Whatever our labor was, we are co-laborers with God. The Lord will reward us each according to our own LABOR, not for the results. God alone gives the increase! 1st Corinthians 3:7-8b, “So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase. Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one...” Wow! The Bible says the seed sower and the seed reaper ARE ONE. So if you give someone a Gospel tract, and that seed of truth begins to work in their heart, and then years later I come along and win them to Christ, the Bible teaches that you and I BOTH had a part in that lost sinner's conversion. Neither you nor I can claim credit for that person getting saved, because God saved them, not us.

Lordship Salvation Is An Enemy Of Soulwinning

The Apostle Paul is emphasizing these truths to discourage cliques in the local church. I know the pain of not being accepted by a church clique. Sadly, Bob Jones University is very cliquish. They are very cultish. If you aren't accepted by the inner core of their clique, you're ostracized and left out. Harvest Baptist Church on Guam is one such clique. Pastor Marty Herron is an arrogant snob, who corrupted HBC when he was their shameful pastor between 1999 and 2018. 

When I attended Harvest for a year in 2014, I was accepted at first. But as soon as I loved them enough to befriend them with THE TRUTH, I was rejected and ostracized by the group. That is how religious cults operate. Since 2014 I have been shunned in the Guam community by everyone who attends Harvest Baptist Church. Just last week I was walking at Asan Beach and saw the church's Harvest House van, and some foster children with Harvest staff members. It was like I wasn't a human being as I passed by and befriended them. They refused to wave. They hate me. Because of Pastor Marty Herron and Pastor Gary Walton's wickedness, arrogant snobs who despise me, they have turned the entire church against me, so that I cannot even walk in public without being stared at, shunned and mistreated by their staff and members. That is of the Devil. That is a religious cult. That is not God's love.

Do you know what is the underlying core issue? Harvest Baptist Church is preaching another gospel. They preach the Devil's lie of Lordship Salvation. They promote the Devil's corruptible seed in the modern perverse Bible revisions. They preach a misunderstood repentance that falsely requires people to try to stop sinning to be saved. Harvest Baptist Church is a Satanic cult, following their Satanic headquarters at Bob Jones University...

Here is an excellent sermons by Pastor Dennis Rokser, exposing the perversion of Lordship Salvation: Getting The Gospel Right And Wrong. There is not a more ungodly, corrupt and toxic group today than the Bob Jones University crowd and their hero Dr. John MacArthur. Marty Herron is a wicked false teacher, who now corrupts young people in Iowa, collecting a 6-digit salary as executive vice president of a dead deeper-life religious college. These apostates simply don't care about truth or hurting people. They only care about their careers. They only care about their buddies and friends. Dr. Steve Pettit is one of them, another apostate who preaches Calvinism at BJU. Woe unto the Bob Jones camp! Their arrogance will soon come to an end, and my Bible preaching will be vindicated by God. The Bob Jones camp have heaped coals of fire and God's judgement upon them (Galatians 1:6-9; 3:1-3; 5:4; 6:7).

Harvest's church logo is: “Helping People Develop A Heart For God,” but they ought to be honest and change it to: “Helping People Go To Hell Forever.” Jesus told the Samaritan woman in John 4:24 that God can only be worshipped in TRUTH and SPIRIT. God cannot be worshipped in error, for to do so Jesus called “vain worship” (Matthew 15:8).

Sharing The Gospel Is The Greatest Thing You Can Do

Millions of people (young and old alike) live to make money. Today's apostate Bible colleges are geared toward preparing young people to pursue money-making careers. As reasonable as that may sound to the carnally-minded person, that is not the high road to take. I am so sick of BJU luring young girls into their nursing program, to earn money in a nursing career. Consequently, BJU has slacked off in their moral standards, allowing female students to wear halter tops, slacks and pants. It is shameful. 

Psalms 97:10, “Ye that love the LORD, hate evil: he preserveth the souls of his saints; he delivereth them out of the hand of the wicked.” Psalms 119:104, “Through thy precepts I get understanding: therefore I hate every false way.” I know some blog visitors are wondering why I preach against the Bob Jones crowd so much. These two Bible verses explain why. Lordship Salvation is a false way. It is evil. To preach Lordship Salvation, and to bid Godspeed to those who do, is evil. The Bible says that a Christian who abides in the Scriptures will HATE EVERY FALSE WAY. It is okay to hate, if you hate the right things, and not people. I love everyone. I love Marty Herron, Gary Walton and Steve Pettit, I just HATE the false gospel they preach. I HATE the counterfeit Bible revisions that they use, sell and promote. I HATE the misunderstanding of repentance that requires people to try to stop sinning as much to be saved, which is nonsense. 

Friend, you don't have to clean up your life to get into Heaven, you absolutely MUST be 100% perfect, sinless in every way. Who can do that? You're right, nobody can. That is why Jesus paid the price for our sins with His blood on the cross. When we trust Jesus as our personal Savior, receiving His sacrifice on the cross as payment for our sins, believing that He resurrected three days later from the dead, we are saved. God credits (imputes) our sins to Christ, and God imputes His righteousness to us. This all happens in a second of time BY FAITH ALONE (Ephesians 2:8-9).

I love the Harvest Baptist Church on Guam. They think I hate them, but I hate their false doctrine. I hate their false Bibles. I hate their false understanding of what it means to repent. I hate their pride and arrogance, and loyalty to reprobates like Steve Peter, Marty Herron and John MacArthur, which causes them to continue down the path to Hell and destruction. I hate every false way. I hate evil. That is what God commands me and you to do. Something is very wrong with Bob Jones University today, that they don't see a problem with Calvinism. That is all that Lordship Salvation really is, repackaged Calvinism. “Calvinism” refers to the corrupt theological teachings of an unsaved religious man named John Calvin (1509-1564). Calvin was a madman, who literally murdered 58 people for disagreeing with his theology. So much for living a changed life to prove that you're saved, aka, Lordship Salvation.

 

Dear reader, the greatest thing you will ever do is to witness the Gospel to someone. Hopefully you've been sharing the Gospel with hundreds of people throughout your Christian life. If not, today is the first day to live happily ever after. Pastor Dwight L. Moody wisely said, “It is the only happy life to live for the salvation of souls.” Amen and amen. When Christians write to me, down and depressed with life, I already know that they never go soulwinning. I know because soulwinners are very happy people. Anybody who knows me knows that I always smile and have God's shine on my face. That is Jesus in me, the hope of glory. My name is written in Heaven. I am so blessed, regardless of what happens to me in this miserable earthly life. I have the blessed hope of God's promise of eternal life by faith (Titus 1:2).

I am sad that Harvest Baptist Church continues to reject and ostracize me, since 2014, but I rejoice in knowing the reasons why they reject me. They count me as their enemy (as the churches of Galatia did the Apostle Paul in Galatians 4:16), because like Paul I befriended them with THE TRUTH. They couldn't handle it. Marty Herron is a loyal buddy of Steve Pettit, and he will not go against headquarters, which would be career suicide. Amos 3:3, “Can two walk together, except they be agreed?” Romans 3:4, “God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged.” The Bob Jones crowd cannot be right, and the free grace Gospel crowd be right too. 

I watched a very interesting 12 hour documentary by historian film producer, Ken Burns, on 'The American Civil War.' It is heartbreaking history! I just heard a quote in the film by President Abraham Lincoln (1809-1865) that caught my attention...

“In great contests [battles], each party claims to act in accordance with the will of God—both may be, but one must be, wrong—God cannot be for and against the same thing at the same time!” —President Abraham Lincoln

Why did Mr. Lincoln say that? It is because both the Northern Union and the Southern Confederacy both claimed to be doing “God's will” in fighting The Civil War (1860-1965). Both President Jefferson Davis in the south, and President Abraham Lincoln in the north, said they were doing “God's will.” As Mr. Lincoln wisely points out, that is IMPOSSIBLE! When two opposing parties, who are warring against each other, claiming to be doing God's will, obviously someone is WRONG! That is why Abraham Lincoln made that powerful statement! 

So Bob Jones University and their dirty accomplices cannot be right, and also the opposing side (Jack Hyles, Curtis Hutson, Bob Gray Sr., Ralph Yankee Arnold, myself and Harry Ironside) all be correct. It is IMPOSSIBLE!!! Either you have to stop living in deliberate sinning to receive God's free gift of eternal life (as Lordship Salvation teaches), or else you don't have to quit your willful sinning to be saved (which is the truth of a free grace Gospel). I love Pastor Curtis Hutson (1934-1995), who preached THE TRUTH that you don't go to Hell because you won't quit your sinning. There is no promise in the Bible to those who partially believe on Christ! Do you fully trust Him friend? I do. If Christ is your only hope for forgiveness of sins and eternal life, then you are saved. If you are also trusting water baptism, just in case, then you are not saved. You must put all your apples into one basket, and that basket is Jesus.

Are you are soulwinner? If you know that you are saved, then you should be able to tell someone else how you got saved. That is all that soulwinning is. Many people are confused by Satan, thinking that they must forsake sinful bad habits to be saved. Consequently, many people won't come to Christ, thinking wrongly that Jesus won't accept a big sinner like them. Dear reader, you couldn't be more mistaken if that is what you have been thinking. 

Romans 5:6-9, “For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.”

Jesus only saves one type of person, THE UNGODLY! What did Jesus say? Mark 2:17, “When Jesus heard it, he saith unto them, They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.” I am disturbed that some heretics can read this Bible passage, and mistakenly think that it means to turn away from sinning to be saved. They are guilty of the same sin as the self-righteous Pharisees, thinking that God saves people who reform themselves first. The Pharisees lived above reproach. They didn't commit adultery. They didn't murder. So they thought they were sinless. 

Look what Jesus said to the people about the self-righteous Pharisees in Matthew 5:20, “For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.” Dear reader, unless you have more righteousness than the Lordship Salvation crowd, you won't go to Heaven when you die. You need GOD'S RIGHTEOUSNESS, not yours! Philippians 3:9, “And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:” I tremendously love that Bible verse!!! We are saved by HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS. That is what it means in Matthew 6:33, “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”

The greatest thing you'll ever do is to lead someone to Christ with the Gospel. I have had the blessed privilege to lead thousands of people to Jesus Christ through my humble online ministry. God saved them all, I just gave them the truth of the Gospel. Jesus said in John 15:5 that without Him we cannot do anything. Jesus is the vine, we are the branches. If we abide in Christ, then we will bear much fruit (Luke 8:15). That is our duty as believers, to be ambassadors of Christ to the world, reconciling sinners to God with the Gospel. 2nd Corinthians 5:20, “Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.”

There is no specific way to share the Gospel, just be natural and talk normally to people. Usually they will bring up the subject. I made my own Gospel tract a couple years ago, which I pass out all the time of Guam. Many Pastors Have Destroyed Soulwinning Churches

I am now listening to a needful sermon by Pastor Jack Hyles called: “Many Pastors Have Destroyed My Vineyard.” Dr. Hyles said in this helpful sermon, “You never outgrow God's Great Commission.” Matthew 28:19-20, “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” We are commanded to take the Gospel UNTO THE END OF THE WORLD. 

There is nothing more important than soulwinning. It is tragic that so many churches have fallen into the trap of WORSHIP. You cannot show me one verse in the King James Bible that says we go to church to worship God. You cannot! Pastors have destroyed our churches, turning them into fun centers and places of entertainment. The job of the New Testament church is to help sinners! These hypocritical churches who ban sinners, and drive out truth-tellers like me, are of the Devil. How can you help sinners if you kick them out of church? I'm not talking about defiant open sin in the church (1st Corinthians 5:1-5). 

The ungodly Harvest Baptist Church of Guam expelled a man for divorcing his wife. How can that man be helped now? They destroyed his life! Pastor Marty Herron kicked me out for telling THE TRUTH that Lordship Salvation is not the free grace Gospel. That devil has blood on his hands, and I'm going to be there when God makes him rue the day he hurt me for telling THE TRUTH!!! Kindly said, Pastor Herron is a theological liar, a false teacher and a religious hypocrite. He can sin, but no one else can. When a man on staff divorced his wife, Pastor Herron axed him, excommunicating him as a church member. But when Marty Herron bids Godspeed to evildoers Steve Pettit and John MacArthur, and spreads the Devil's corruptible seed of the modern perversions, and refuses to allow me to attend church, that's okay? Focus On Christ Alone And Not Yourself For Assurance

2nd Corinthians 5:21, “For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.” Philippians 3:9, “And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:”

A hurting man has been emailing me in recent months. He is struggling with sin in his life, both past and present. According to his testimony, he has done horribly sinful things in his past, so much so that he is finding it hard to believe he is saved. I have exchanged a few dozen emails with him, recommending free online books, sermons, Gospel tracts and other helpful resources to guide him along. Mostly, I have encouraged him to spend a lot of time meditating in the King James Bible. Romans 10:17, “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” If you are struggling dear reader with any type of faith based issue, I highly recommend that you get into the Word of God. All of the modern Bible revisions are corrupted by the Devil, so I only use and recommend the inspired King James Bible.

I also gave the man I mentioned a few dozen Scripture passages, kindly suggesting that he commit them to memory to help him combat his doubts. As we just read in Romans 10:17, faith comes by hearing God's Word. That is also a big reason why it is very important that you and I, and every born-again believer, attend a solid Bible-believing church in your local community. Sadly, there are a lot of junk churches today, especially in the United States. You never know what to expect when you walk into a new church. So be on guard. Just be friendly toward everyone, humble, and go see what the church is about. Here is a list of Baptist churches near you (more).

It is normal to feel a bit awkward and strange for the first few visits. It is important that you feel comfortable overall being there. Just give it some time. It is very important that the pastor preaches a free grace view of the Gospel, and not the demonic junk called Lordship Salvation (LS). LS basically teaches that faith is not enough to get to Heaven. In addition, you are told that you must turn away from your sinful behavior, surrendering “all” to Christ, in an exchange of all that you are for all that Jesus is. LS is a toxic poison which has contaminated many churches today, turning once great churches into deadly religious cults. Please RUN AWAY quickly from any church, if you hear the pastor saying that you cannot merely accept Jesus as your Savior to be saved, but also, in addition, he says we must watch to examine that person's life for awhile to see if they're really saved. That is not the saving Gospel of free grace, not by a longshot, it is a works-based type of counterfeit salvation.

Getting back to the man I mentioned, I also sent him a link to my 42 chapter book called: 'SALVATION' to share my own testimony and truths which the Lord has taught me in my Christian life. I kindly sent him internet links to hundreds of helpful Bible sermons about salvation. Some of the best and most helpful salvation sermons you can share with others is on YouTube by Pastor Ralph 'Yankee' Arnold. Yet, despite all these helpful resources they guy emailed me back in desperation, saying that he needs me to pray for him that God will force him to believe, because he just doesn't have any faith that Christ will save him because of his wickedness. 

I get emails like this from time to time, and they are always easy for me to deal with. They are easy for a few reasons. First, God has blessed me with an excellent understanding of the Gospel. I had great teachers (Dr. Jack Hyles, Evangelist Harry Ironside, Pastor Ralph Yankee Arnold, et cetera). Second, the Gospel is simple. The Bible calls the Gospel “the simplicity that is in Christ” (2nd Corinthians 11:3-4). Men always complicate things, but God made salvation simple. The Lord needed to keep salvation simple, because there are a lot of ignorant and base type of people in the world who cannot grasp complicated things. God is a good, fair and reasonable Creator. You cannot outdo God friend, He knows what He's doing.

Unfortunately, the man has persistently written back to express his religious scrupulosity, afraid that he is not saved, worried about going to Hell, asking me to pray for God to save him. I kindly responded by letting him know that I cannot pray for what he is asking. I do not have the right, nor is it proper biblically, to ask God to save someone. There is only one Mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus (1st Timothy 2:5-6). I did however let him know that I did pray for God to give him knowledge and wisdom to help him understand the truth of the Gospel. I have explained the Gospel to him multiple times. But it doesn't matter what I say, because he is focusing on himself instead of Christ concerning salvation.

I didn't write this blog article to criticize the man in question; but rather, to help others who may be in a similar situation. It is my privilege to help others for Christ, so I maintain a humble spirit. Philippians 2:3, “Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.” Friend, I cannot save you. No Catholic priest or Lutheran minister has the right nor power to forgive anyone's sins. Jesus is the only Mediator between God and men. Salvation is of the Lord (Jonah 2:9). John 14:6, “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”

When I send several dozen resources (books, sermons and tracts) to a person who is struggling to settle the assurance of salvation, and they persist to tell me that they just don't feel like they are saved, then it becomes clear to me that they are either:

1. LAZY - They're not reading the books and sermons, nor listening to the sermons I have shared with them. Ninety-nine percent of the time, when people cannot get it settled after I help them, they never tell me about truths they read or learned from the resources I have kindly shared with them. Literally, some people would rather worry than study. They are lazy. For whatever reason they won't help them self by studying. What did Jesus say? John 5:39, “Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.” Dear friend, if you are struggling to know you are saved, the answer is IN THE SCRIPTURE! I can show you Bible verses all day, but until you apply yourself to understand God's Word, you won't settle anything. People write to me and want me to tell them that they are saved, but I cannot and will not do that. You need to KNOW that you are saved based upon the written PROMISES of God in His Word. Jesus said to SEARCH THE SCRIPTURES!!!
2. LOOKING IN THE WRONG PLACE - They are focusing on them self instead of Christ. When Moses formed some brass into the shape of a serpent, the Israelites were told to LOOK AND LIVE. Because of their complaining God sent fiery deadly serpents (snakes) among the people to bite them. God instructed Moses to hold up the brass serpent on a pole, and whosoever LOOKED to the serpent LIVED. That serpent symbolized Jesus, the sinless Lamb of God Who chose to became as sin for you and me, to redeem us from the consequences of sin in Hell (2nd Corinthians 5:21). John 3:14-15, “And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.” Get your mind off yourself concerning salvation. Your attitude toward your sins has nothing to do with getting saved, except that you acknowledge being a guilty sinner in the sight of a holy God (Romans 3:19-20). 
You and I contribute NOTHING to our salvation except the SIN that made it necessary.

3. THEY HAVE OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder) - OCD is a mental disorder, and no amount of Bible knowledge is going to help them short term. If a person is a worry wart, then their problem is psychological. The only advice I have for such a person is to bath your mind, heart and life with the King James Bible. Listen to Bible preaching every day. Every believer should attend a local Bible-believing church. I understand that there are many junk churches today, and not everyone has a good sound church to attend. But most people who email me with a bunch of problems DON'T go to church at all, nor do they desire to go. We all need fellowship with other believers, to encourage, comfort, love and help one another. There are several helpful website for people with OCD concerning assurance of salvation. I can help people who are ignorant of the Bible, but I cannot help people who refuse to trust Christ in lieu of the plain truth set before them.

Dear reader, please don't be scared off if you have any Bible questions for me. As long as you have Bible questions I CAN help you. But when you write to me, after all the truths I have shared with you, and tell me that you just don't trust Christ and you don't know why, I cannot help you any further. When a man tells me that he doesn't trust Jesus, and asks me to pray for God to force him to believe, I have nothing else to say to him. What do you mean you don't believe, but want to believe, and want me to pray for God to save you? I mean, you either believe that Jesus is the only begotten Son of God, the Christ, or you don't. You are either wholly relying upon Jesus, Who became the sacrifice for your sins on the cross, or you don't.

I kindly told the man that he is suffering from religious scrupulosity and is driving himself crazy by thinking too much. Salvation is so simple friend. Men always complicate everything. I understand what it feels like to have doubts, fear and cry in torment because I couldn't find the assurance of my salvation. But I never told God that I don't believe and don't know why. That is ridiculous. I always told God that I DO believe, but I still didn't FEEL like I was saved. I suffered for 7 miserable years as a lonely teenager, unable to find the sweet peace that I was saved. In hindsight, I learned many years later that I was simple ignorant of how salvation works. I had been misled by Baptist preachers my whole life, whole taught me to pray a prayer to get saved. That is the worst advice you can give an unsaved person, to pray to get saved.

I have had preachers rebuke me for teaching that prayer is not the Bible way to be saved. Folks, it is not the Bible way to be saved. Nowhere in the Gospel of John are we taught to PRAY to receive Christ as our personal Savior. In particular, respectfully, Pastor Steven Anderson (and those pastors who are die hard followers of his New IFB movement) are adamant about the necessity to pray to get saved. That is unbiblical. Don't take my word for it, study the Scripture for yourself. I triple-dog dare you to show me where the Bible commands anyone to pray to receive God's free gift of eternal life. You cannot! I say that kindly, but truthfully. We are saved simply by BELIEVING. John 6:47, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.”

Dear reader, Christ paid it all. Jesus paid your debt of sin and mine. Anybody who comes to God as a dirty guilty sinner, receiving Christ's sacrifice on the cross as payment for their sins, is immediately, irrevocably and permanently saved. Now, it is not wrong to pray a prayer at the time of salvation. In fact, it is natural for someone to desire to pray. That is fine to do. I am not saying that someone who prays and asks Jesus to save them is not saved. I believe that Pastor Anderson, and the other pastors who follow his leadership worldwide, are legitimately getting people saved. But I am saying that I personally went through several unnecessary years of confusion, worry and misery because I was focusing on whether I prayed right or left something out. I was trusting Jesus with all my heart. I know I was saved at age 13. But I was looking at the wrong thing to find assurance, and it misled me. Until you LOOK TO JESUS alone, and not worry about your part in salvation, you'll never find peace.

Being confused doesn't necessarily mean you are not saved (but it certainly could mean that too). It all depends on what you are confused about, and where your trust rests. I always trusted Christ 100% from the very moment I was saved. But I thought the way you trust Christ is by asking Him to save you through prayer. I came to eventually learn that we are saved simply by BELIEVING, and nothing else. Praying is not believing, but a person may pray because they believe, which is what I did (Romans 10:14). Focus on Christ alone concerning salvation. If your faith is in the GOOD NEWS of Christ crucified, buried and risen, you are saved according to 1st Corinthians 15:1-4.

Biblical Proof That Dr. Steve Pettit Is Full Of Crap

Luke 10:20, “Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.”

Respectfully said toward Dr. Pettit (I mean no unkindness, truly), he preaches another gospel. Who is Steve Pettit? Mr. Pettit has been the president of Bob Jones University since 2014. I am writing this blog article because BJU has a tremendous impact upon thousands of churches today, particularly independent Baptist churches, through their thousands of graduates. Right doctrine matters folks! Galatians 1:6-7 warns that there is NOT another Gospel. Galatians 1:6-7, “I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.” Sadly, today's Bible colleges and churches are filled with heretics who pervert the Gospel, damning people's souls to Hell.

Read for yourself what Steve Pettit heretically preached on January 26, 2015 at BJU chapel to 2,700 students and faculty:

“You can't just speak about getting saved, and you accepted Christ, and then that's it! There is a justification; There is a sanctification; There's ultimately a glorification, and though there are three parts, they are all part of the whole, and you cannot separate them. In order for you to qualify for the award, you have to get into the race, you have to stay in the race, and you have to finish the race. If you want to win, you have to run to the end; and winning in the Christian life is everything, because if you lose—if you don't finish—you lose everything—you lose your SOUL. And so, the Christian race is the life of faith that begins, is run, and is finished when we cross over into Heaven!” —Dr. Steve Pettit (“What Does It Mean To Run 'The Race'?” - 11:34)

The “award” that Dr. Pettit teaches you must work hard to earn he says is “Heaven itself”:

“We run the race, we cross the finish line, and so what’s the prize? What is the award? Well, there are different viewpoints. Some would have the viewpoint that the awards are crowns in Heaven. But as I read the book of Hebrews and see the whole gist of the book and the flow of the book, I don’t believe its referring to crowns in Heaven. I think it is referring to Heaven itself.” [emphasis added] —Dr. Steve Pettit (“What Does It Mean To Run 'The Race'?” - 22:57)

Dear friend, eternal life is not an “award,” it is the “free gift” of God by grace alone (Romans 5:15-18, 6:23; Ephesians 2:8-9). A gift is a take proposition, not a give proposition. You simply take it by faith. Luke 10:20 teaches us as believers to rejoice that our names are written in Heaven. That means KNOWING 100% that we are saved certain. But according to Dr. Pettit's rotten perverse teachings, you cannot KNOW that you are saved yet, not until life is over, and you have faithfully run the race to the finish line. How else could we KNOW that we are saved, since we cannot say someone has “faithfully run the race” until they actually cross the finish line?

Oh reader, do you see how dangerous and unbiblical Steve Pettit's teachings on salvation are? God knows that I have nothing personal against Mr. Pettit. I met him on Guam in 2014 when he preached at Harvest Baptist Church. Sadly, Pastor Marty Herron is as corrupt and perverse in his theology as Steve Pettit, and neither of these men ought to be allowed to speak behind any pulpit. I speak on the authority of God's Word from the inspired King James Bible:

Titus 1:10-13, “For there are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers, specially they of the circumcision: Whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for filthy lucre's sake. One of themselves, even a prophet of their own, said, The Cretians are alway liars, evil beasts, slow bellies. This witness is true. Wherefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith;”

Sean Quinlan (former pastor of Lighthouse Baptist Church on Guam) once scolded me, saying: “You're not an apostle.” What an ignorant and foolish thing to say. Dear reader, neither was Titus an apostle, but Paul instructed him to REBUKE THEM SHARPLY who pervert the Gospel. I am and will continue to sharply rebuke the Bob Jones University camp until they repent and stop teaching Lordship Salvation, and promoting the Devil's corruptible seed. ...

It Matters Which Bible You Use - God Only Authored One Book!

Kindly said, Steve Pettit was inspired by demons when he preached that awful heretical sermon, which he has never recanted. In case you don't know, Pettit is buddies with the biggest heretic of our generation, Dr. John F. MacArthur in California. MacArthur is an alumni of BJU, which has consequently crept more tares into the college over the decades. Dr. Bob Jones Sr. (1883-1968) would have run these infidels out of the college!!! Would to God BJU still had some biblical sense today and would fire Steve Pettit and renounce his false teachings. I say that with love, but on the authority of the Word of God.

The fact that Jesus commanded every believer to rejoice that their name is written in Heaven, is biblical proof that Steve Pettit is full of crap! You CAN in fact accept Jesus as your personal Savior, by believing the GOOD NEWS (Gospel) of His death, burial and resurrection (1st Corinthians 15:1-4), and KNOW that you are immediately, irrevocably and permanently forever saved (John 6:47). Who are you going to believe, Steve Pettit or the King James Bible?

You're Either Redeemed By The Blood Or You're Toast

John 3:35-36, “The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand. He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.” James 2:10, “For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.”

I want to share a very important truth with you that burns my heart often, which is that the ONLY righteousness we have is GOD'S IMPUTED RIGHTEOUSNESS. We hear much heresy taught in the churches today about turning from sins to be saved. For example: Bob Jones University teaches their 2,600 students that you must “repent and turn away from your sin” to receive God's free gift of eternal life. This is a perversion of God's grace and a false gospel. BJU sends out graduates to work in thousands of churches. Consequently, here is a classic example of how just one corrupt Bible college can contaminate thousands of churches. I detest Bible colleges these days. 

I mentioned BJU as an introduction, to show that they are woefully ignorant of the Bible. Go figure, a Bible college ignorant of the BIBLE! I am so sick and tired of hearing heretics add to the Gospel. They say you cannot be saved unless you first “turn away from a lifestyle of sin.” I heard Pastor Marty Herron say those exact words at Harvest Baptist Church of Guam in 2014. It was a Sunday morning. Hundreds of people were present in church that day. I went home and literally cried after hearing that, asking God if I should go back or not. I decided to go back and befriend them with THE TRUTH. Perhaps they just didn't know any better. Perhaps Pastor Herron had never been told THE TRUTH. Well, Pastor Herron and his ungodly associate pastors, and some of the snobby rich people in the church, axed me like a turkey on Thanksgiving Day! Harvest Baptist Church in 2021 is still a cesspool of iniquity, a den of vipers, a nest of Bible-corrupters, full of doctrines of devils and a prisonhouse of religion!!!

I had hoped that Pastor Marty Herron would reflect upon the truths I had shared with him in 2014. In 2018, Herron resigned as senior pastor at HBC to go work as executive vice president of Faith Baptist Bible College And Theological Seminary in Ankeny, Iowa. In 2019 he was invited to preach at the Colonial Hills Baptist Church in Indianapolis, Indiana. Sadly, Marty still preaches the same damnable LIE that you must repent OF YOUR SIN to be saved. That is not the Gospel dear friend. I am not picking on Marty Herron, I am exposing a false prophet! Somebody needs to warn people about false teachers! Everyone has a right to their own opinion, but no one has a right to their own facts. The Gospel is a fact, not an opinion. You cannot show me even one Bible verse that teaches to turn away from committing sin to be saved. That is a fact! What Mr. Herron is preaching is his opinion, not what the Bible says. Let God be true but every man a liar (Romans 3:4).

Pastor Dennis Rokser of the Duluth Bible Church in Minnesota, preached this excellent sermon proclaiming what the Gospel is, and what the Gospel is not:

What The Gospel Is, And What The Gospel Is Not

Dear friend, this is the great truth I want you to take away: You are either washed in the blood of Jesus, or you are just as condemned as the vilest dinner in the world! James 2:10 warns that to violate even the least commandment of God makes us guilty of violating them all. Why? It is because committing even one sin makes us GUILTY. God is 100% perfect. God is 100% righteousness. God is 100% holy. No sinner can enter into Heaven. Dear friend, you don't have to turn away from living a sinful lifestyle to be saved, you MUST be absolutely perfect in every way. Unless you are perfect you cannot go to Heaven!

That is why Jesus told His disciples that salvation is IMPOSSIBLE with men:

Matthew 19:24-26, “And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God. When his disciples heard it, they were exceedingly amazed, saying, Who then can be saved? But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.”

Salvation is of the Lord (Jonah 2:9). John 1:12-13, “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.” Either God does the saving, all of it, or you are not saved. Salvation is not doing your best, it is having Christ's best put to your account through receiving Him by faith. God will not save anyone who is trying to be saved, He will only save those who are trusting to be saved.

Dear friend, you are either washed in the blood of the Lamb, and you unworthily possess God's imputed righteousness which is by faith alone in Jesus Christ (Romans 4:1-6); or else you are still wallowing and perishing in your own sin and self-righteousness, trying to turn away from your sin to qualify as being worthy to receive God's free gift of forgiveness and eternal life (Matthew 7:21-23). I have no goodness to offer God. I have no righteousness to offer God. Isaiah 64:6, “But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.” The only thing you contribute to your own salvation friend, is the sin that made it necessary. Jonathan Edwards (1703-1758) said that and he is 100% right!

Which is it friend? Have you been washed in the blood as a guilty sinner, wholly leaning on Jesus name? Or are you among those in Matthew 7:21-23, who are going about to establish your own righteousness by looking within yourselves to turn away from sinful lusts and desires to qualify for God's grace? If you think I am exaggerating, please read what Dr. Steve Pettit (president of Bob Jones University since 2014) heretically teaches their faculty and students. Mr. Pettit errantly teaches that you must “qualify” to receive the “award” of “Heaven itself” (those are all his own words). Pettit is wrong on all counts! Salvation is not an award, it is a free gift (Romans 5:15-18; 6:23). You cannot qualify to obtain Heaven, you must humbly receive it as a guilty sinner (Romans 3:19-20), wholly unworthy of God's grace. Mr. Pettit is not a born-again child of God, he is an infidel in the pulpit at BJU, who needs to be fired.

Faith is the only righteous thing I can do! This is a serious matter. Right doctrine matters! You're either redeemed by the precious blood of Jesus, or you're toast friend. Life is short, Hell is hot and eternity is a long time! Dear friend, any plan of salvation that does not offer you immediate, irrevocable and permanent assurance of eternal life is a false gospel. Any theology that does not give you the absolute assurance of salvation is WRONG! God does not give temporal or probationary life, He only gives eternal life. John 6:47, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.”

Thought Control Is As Important As Prayer

Philippians 4:6-8, “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”

This is a remarkable truth that I apply to my live daily. An important thing I learned years ago while studying the Bible is to always consider an entire passage, and not just lift a single verse out of the passage, which can easily be taken out of context. Nearly every false teacher who wrests (tortures) the Bible to support their heresy, lifts a small text out of the context, creating a new pretext. 

A classic example of this is Matthew 24:13, “But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.” Sadly, even one of my heroes of the Christian faith, Pastor Harry Ironside (1876-1951) gets this passage horrible wrong, applying it to salvation. By simply reading the entire passage we find the correct interpretation of verse 13. Matthew 24:22, “And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.” We plainly see that the subject is the saving of THE FLESH, and not ETERNAL LIFE. Those believers who survive until the end of the Tribulation period will be saved from physical death, and will enter into the 1,000 year Millennium, when Jesus Himself will reign as majestic King over the whole earth from the then restored city of Jerusalem. 

I want to teach you a beautiful and practical truth from Philippians 4:6-8. Nearly everyone separates verses 6 and 7 from verse 8, but they are all connected. Verse 6 tells us not to worry about anything, but instead to pray about everything. Verse 7 promises that if we commit our problems, needs and requests to the Lord, then we can claim the peace of God which passeth all understanding. Oftentimes we will not be able to understand why things are happening in our life. Why do we suffer when we are working so hard to please God? Why do our loved one's suddenly die, when we are serving Christ faithfully? We see wicked people enjoying their grandchildren, while godly saints bury their children as a consequence of being struck and murdered by an irresponsible drunk driver. Why do the saints sometimes suffer, when the wicked prosper? Bad things happen to everyone, both wicked and righteous alike. Ecclesiastes 9:11 teaches that time and chance happeneth to all.

One of the great truths I have learned in my Christian life is to stop worrying, and start praying. A person cannot worry and pray in faith to God at the same time. I am sick and tired of carnal people claiming that pray is a great therapy for depressed people, and is spiritually uplifting, and is beneficial to calm the mind, et cetera. No, prayer is asking God for something! Prayer is only powerful because there is a real God in Heaven Who is listening, and is omnipotent (all powerful), omnibenevolent (all loving), omnisapient (all wise), omniscient (all knowing), and omnipresent (all present). I would NEVER pray as a means of meditation, mental therapy or anything else other than communicating with my CREATOR. The heathen religious world has diminished prayer into a mere form of godliness without the power thereof (2nd Timothy 3:1-5).

I often think about this wonderful Bible passage, especially when I start to worry. If we pray about everything, then we can trust God and stop worrying. If things get worse, then we can rest in the perfect peace of soul knowing that we have cast our cares about the Lord as He commanded (1st Peter 5:7).

I receive thousands of emails each year. I cannot even begin to count how many people contact me because they are down, depressed, frustrated, tired, disillusioned and disgusted with life. One 62 year old Christian lady said she sometimes wishes that a stray bullet would come through her front window and end her life. Numerous people have said they have contemplated taking their own life. Many people are struggling with failing marriages, family problems and turmoil in their relationships. They write to me, some just to vent, others hoping I'll have a magic solution to fix all their problems. 

The one thing in common that these hurting people all share is that they don't go to church. The church is not a museum for spiritual relics, it is a hospital for sinners. I have heard some Baptist preachers criticize that idea of the church being a hospital for sinners, but they are wrong. All humans are dirty sinners. There are redeemed sinners and unsaved sinners, but we are all still dirty sinners. A believer is under God's grace, but the unbeliever is still under the curse and power of the law of God. But even the saint of God still commits sin. This whole insane idea today that if you are really saved, you have turned away from your sins, is demonic heresy. No one has ever turned away from their sins. You may try, but that is as far as you'll ever get, merely trying. That is why Jesus has to do the saving from sin, all of it!!!

Everyone needs a church family. The purpose of going to church is to receive comfort and encouragement from one another, and to organize to go soulwinning in the community. The purpose of the New Testament church is to:

• EXALT the SAVIOR
• EVANGELIZE the SINNER
• EDIFY the SAINT

The purpose of attending church is not to worship God. We are supposed to worship God all the time. We don't go to church to sing, we are supposed to do that all the time, or pray in our afflictions the Bible says (James 5:13).

Another thing these people all have in common, who write to me about their miserable lives, is that they are focusing on the wrong things in their life. THINK ON THESE THINGS the Bible commands in Philippians 4:8. What things? ...

Philippians 4:8, “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.” 

You've often heard the expression: You are what you eat. Well, the same is true mentally. You are what you think. What saith the Scripture? Proverbs 23:7, “For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart is not with thee.” Whatever you allow to enter into your life becomes a part of you. This is why we read in Proverbs 4:23, “Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.” That is my favorite Bible verse. 

Dear friend, please be careful who you choose as friends. Be careful who you get into a car with. I am a fan of biographies of celebrities. I have an interest in the lives of the stars. I like to see where the heathen lifestyle they have chosen leads them. Ozzy Osbourne was bigger than life as a rock star when I was growing up in the 1970's and 1980's. He was the lead singer for a few years of the band, Black Sabbath. Ozzy has such a distinct singing voice. Ozzy has called himself: “The Prince Of Darkness.” In 1982 Ozzy's gifted guitar player, Randy Rhoads (1956-1982), made the fatal mistake of getting into the airplane of a cocaine addict, which cost him and everyone onboard their life. Rhoads was seen physically struggling with the insane plane pilot as he crashed the small plane into Ozzy's tour bus and adjacent home. 

Randy Rhoads died because he trusted someone whom he never should have trusted. You can never trust a substance abuser! I have declined free car rides from people, simply because I didn't know who they were. I don't trust anyone's driving except mine, with rare exceptions. Millions of people have ended up serving prison time (even life), for crimes they didn't commit, but they got into the car of someone who did commit a crime, making them an accomplice. So be careful who and what you let enter into your life, home, marriage, car, church, et cetera. 

All across America Baptist churches are being destroyed from within, because they innocently allowed a false teacher like Marty Herron, Steve Pettit, Sam Horn, John MacArthur or Kevin Bauder into their midst, who brought in the Devil's damnable heresy of Lordship Salvation. I love you dear friend, and I don't want you to burn in Hell forever. Lordship Salvation is a counterfeit gospel which cannot produce the new birth in Christ Jesus. Be careful what you let the cat (pastor) drag into your church, because it might infect your whole congregation. The Marty Herrons, John MacArthurs and Charles Phelps's of this world need to be run out of town, lest they corrupt your church too! BEWARE of Bob Jones University (BJU) today, which has gone total hardcore Lordship Salvation over the past decades. I digress.

Philippians 4:8 teaches us as believers to THINK ON THESE THINGS. What things? Things that are honest, pure, of good report, true, lovely, virtuous and bring praise to God. The reason why so many people are miserable is because they choose to focus on all the negative things in life. They watch the negative daily news. They listen to negative family and friends. They read gossiping magazines and critical websites. The media makes a living killing people's reputations, accusing others, destroying families. There ought to be laws prohibiting the media from profiting off ruining other people's lives. 

So much of what we hear from NBC, FOX, CNN and the entire mainstream newsmedia is FAKE NEWS! The Republicans are just as guilty as the Democrats, but not nearly as demented as the liberal left today. America is a house divided, which is destroying our nation. Republicans and Democrats are merely two separate legs both walking in the same direction of a New World Order. All across the United States carnal Christians support FOX news, while these wicked people fully endorse Caitlyn Jenner who is now running for governor of California. Bruce Jenner is a wicked sick-minded 71 year old man, who is not in his right mind. Brice Jenner is NOT a female, despite his desire to appear as one in public. Sadly, Jenner will likely win as governor of California, simply because of the rigged election process—the same one which removed Donald Trump and installed Joe Biden (a gigantic evil monstrosity). Shame on FOX news for not rebuking this sick filth and insanity!!! The country is not going to hell, it went to hell a long time ago, and is assuredly going to HELL!

I challenge you dear Christian, to take your mind off of this perverse and dark world. Colossians 3:1-3, “If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.” When people email me about their horrible lives, lack of desire to live anymore, and thoughts of ending it all, I KNOW that their mind is dwelling on everything negative. The Bible says you are what you think in Proverbs 23:7. That is why every believer should listen to the King James Bible every day. That is why we all need to get involved in a local Bible-believing church. There's nothing that will bless your life and boost your spirit than attending a soulwinning, people-loving, sin-hating, Jesus-loving, fundamentalist Baptist church!!!

What do you think about friend? Hebrews 12:2 tells us to LOOK TO JESUS, the Author and Finisher of our faith. God always finished what He starts. Our heavenly Father is not an absent parent. Hebrews 13:8 declares that Jesus is THE SAME yesterday, today and forever. Malachi 3:6 says that God NEVER changes. In theology this is called the immutability of God. It is impossible for God's nature to change. Our good, holy and perfect God is immutable!

If you are down in the dumps dear saint, I encourage you to get a hobby. There are thousands of wonderful hobbies, activities and things we can do to enjoy God's great creation. I love being in nature. I love musical instruments. I love watching animals, birds and all that God made. I love the stars, moon and sun. I enjoy God. If you watch TV al day, you are going to be warped and filled with all the negativity, perversion and fears of this ungodly insane world. We must all learn to make the best of what we DON'T have in life. 

Most of us have an abundance of blessings to praise God for, yet we all tend to focus on the shortcomings in our life, and what we don't have, and the people who hurt us instead of all the sweet and good people. I am guilty too, so I am not condemning anybody. But I have learned, at age 54, to let go and let God. I don't have much time left on earth. I don't intend on spending the remainder of my life fretting, worrying, becoming angry and bitter, hating, or letting this insane world get me down, confused and off course as a child of God.

Dear reader, THINK ON THESE THINGS. If your life is a pile of garbage, your thinking is all wrong. Once you get to the bottom of life, it is extremely hard to break free of the dark world you have allowed yourself to enter into. Where do you start? You get involved in a Bible-believing church. I don't mean some dead church that doesn't love people, like the ungodly Harvest Baptist Church on Guam (which literally has banned me from attending church there since 2014, because I befriended them with the truth that Lordship Salvation is a false gospel). They are a cult, not a Bible church. I don't mean a garbage hole like that! I mean a genuine people-loving, soulwinning, Christ-honoring, King James Bible only, free grace Gospel preaching, New Testament church!!! Amen and amen! Your life will grow from there.

Start listening to Bible preaching every day. If you have negative friends and family, all the more you need to make new friends at church. Invite your family. I get many emails from people who have failing marriages, wanting some miracle cure from me, but there is none. Husbands write to me and tell me how horrible their wives are, but those men refuse to go to church, and their wife is a mess spiritually, so she is not a good wife. Happy successful marriages don't just happen, you need to work at all. We all need guidance.

I get so frustrated giving biblical advice to people, because less than 5% listen to me. They just keep emailing, month after month, moaning about all their problems. I have had to start ignoring some people, writing back once a week, because they become pests. I am not being unkind, but I am not here for people to vent when they have issues. My ministry is to help people, not coddle and babysit them in their rebellion. People are so stubborn, set in their wrong ways. 

It's the same with weight loss. People will buy every pill, powder, gimmick and alleged shortcut available, but they never lose weight. The answer is and has always been to start eating properly, and the body will adjust to its proper weight over time. It may take a couple years if you are greatly obese, but you cannot remain obese eating beans, salads and fish. It's all the other junk food that people add (processed foods, dairy, sugar and fattening oils) that cause them to explode in weight. Likewise, if you're sad, miserable and unhappy, something needs to change in your thinking.

I have had countless men write to me to complain about their wife. I have been single and alone for 15 years. I tell those men that I would give anything to be married, and have the problems they think are so bad. Married couples often take each other for granted. You need to take a step back, look at the big picture, and count your blessings. My life is far from perfect. I am not happy every day. But I decide to focus on Jesus, the Author and Finisher of my faith. I always rejoice that my name is written in Heaven, and that never changes. God's promises as recorded in His inspired Word never change. The Holy Bible is a shining lamp unto our feet (Psalm 119:105). What we think about is just as important as going to the Lord in prayer, because if you think negative you won't be praying for long. Jesus said we would have TRIBULATION in this ugly world, but He said to BE OF GOOD CHEER, knowing that He is risen (John 16:33). What a wonderful Savior!!!
