You Don't Have To “Ask” Jesus To Be Saved

John 3:16,  “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

Did you know that you don't even have to “ask” Jesus to save you in order to go to Heaven? “What?” you say? Yes, you heard right, you don't have to “ask” for the Lord to save you to get to Heaven. The reason why is because God already told us what to do to be saved, and that is to simply BELIEVE on the Lord Jesus Christ. If you believe that Jesus died on the cross for your sins, and you believe that Christ resurrected from the dead (which means that God the Father accepted Christ's payment for our sins) you are saved. Jesus said in John 6:28-29, “Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God? Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.”

Acts 16:30-31, “And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.” Believe that Jesus is the Son of God, the Christ, Who paid the price for your sins upon the cross. Jesus was buried and then raised-up from the dead three days later, which means that God the Father accepted the payment of His dear Son on the cross for our sins.

Certainly, you may call upon the name of the Lord in prayer to be saved, but it is your heart's trust in the Lord that causes God to work the supernatural miracle of salvation, and not our prayer or human will in any way. John 1:12-13, “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.” Salvation is completely of God. Our part is simply to believe the Gospel. Mark 1:15, “And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.”

The word “call” in Romans 10:13 does NOT mean “to pray” as most people think. Rather, it is the Greek word epikaleomai and means “to entitle,” that is, “give the right to,” (by implication, to invoke”). My friend, God wants to save you more than you could ever comprehend. 2nd Peter 3:9 says God is not willing for any to perish, but for all men to come to repentance. Your salvation has already been paid for by Jesus' precious blood. 1st Peter 1:18-19, “Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.” Eternal life is a free gift (Romans 5:15, 6:23; Ephesians 2:8-9).

All you have to do is give God the right to save you. That's what the word “call” means in Romans 10:13. God's holiness cannot permit any sinner to enter into Heaven. So God in His wondrous love made provision for our redemption through the sacrifice of His only begotten Son on the cross. There are no exceptions to the rule. God is bound by His Word. God cannot save you unless you let Him. As strange as that may seem, it is 100% Biblical. God has given to you a freewill to choose for yourself.

Although God can do anything (omnipotent), there are certain things that God simply WILL NOT do, because they would violate His holy character. So many people are foolish idiots, who believe that a loving God will let them slide and enter into Heaven without being born-again. Jesus exclaimed in John 3:5 that unless a person becomes born-again (anew) by the Holy Spirit of God, he cannot enter into the Kingdom of God. Jesus warned that the Scripture cannot be broken (John 10:35). Religion is man trying to reach God through human effort; whereas, Christianity is God trying to reach man by the sacrifice of His dear Son on the cross.

The holy Bible warns that you will go straight to the fires of Hell if you die in your sins (John 8:24; 2nd Thessalonians 1:8-9). Jesus literally took our truckload of sins upon Himself on the cross, paying our humongous sin debt that He did not owe, so that we would not have to spend an endless eternity burning in the fires of Hell to pay for our own sins. All you need to do is receive God's grace and mercy by receiving Christ's payment on the cross for your sins. It's all free for the taking.

It is not wrong to “ask” Christ to save you, but as I have painfully learned over the years, heresies are creeping into our Fundamental Baptist Churches by the hour. There are all sorts of unbiblical, dangerous and infectious false doctrines which have crept into most churches today. Salvation is easy, and anyone who comes along saying it is hard is a liar. Billy Graham makes salvation hard, requiring lost sinners to COUNT THE COST and PAY THE PRICE to be saved. My friend, Jesus paid the price and there is no cost for us to count. Salvation is absolutely, freely and completely by faith alone in the death, burial and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ. This is the Gospel according to 1st Corinthians 15:1-4...

 

1st Corinthians 15:1-4, “Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.”

You don't have to “ask” Jesus to save you, because God is already freely offering you eternal life. All you need to do is accept it by faith. Eternal life is a free gift! Simply receive Christ's sacrifice on the cross as payment for your sins, believing that He died, was buried and bodily resurrected three days later for your justification. A gift is not earned, it is simply accepted.

The Counterfeit Gospel Of 'Unshackled'

2nd Corinthians 5:17, “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”

I visited the famous Pacific Garden Mission in Chicago as a kid hundreds of times. My father was a Skid Row preacher and regularly preached at PGM, taking men into the Prayer Room after the sermon to lead them to Christ. This was in the 1970's and 1980's when Harry Saulnier was the mission's director. Back then PGM preached the accurate Gospel of free grace, and none of this “turn from your sins” crap that they preach today in 2020. 

I was listening to their latest Unshackled program today, titled: “Bill Terrell, Part One” (program #3590 - aired in 2020). I was disgusted as I listened to Bill's testimony. He was a career criminal, who found religion in prison. PGM's favorite GO-TO Bible verse is 2nd Corinthians 5:17, “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” This verse simply means that when you get born-again, the indwelling Holy Spirit now lives inside you. Your spiritual understanding has now been opened (1st Corinthians 2:14-16). The Comforter is now with you for the rest of your life. Everything is new! However, this Bible verse does NOT mean that your addictions, lusts and desire to live in wickedness is suddenly taken away! If you listen to the 'Unshackled' program, you will hear Bill say at 19:10 in time:

BILL - “I found a verse I like in 2nd Corinthians 5:17, 'Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.' A new creature. It's funny. I have no desire for drugs or any of the things that controlled my life before. Could that be what it means? 

FRIEND - That's exactly what it means!

That is another gospel! Getting saved is simply receiving God's free gift of eternal life. By choosing Jesus Christ as your Savior, this does not miraculously remove your desire to do drugs and forsake “the things that controlled my life.” Pacific Garden Mission (PGM) is horribly perverting the Gospel of free grace, presenting it to lost sinners as a lifestyle that must be lived. By teaching that getting saved requires surrendering CONTROL of your life over to Christ, PGM has added Lordship to God's plan of salvation. That is another gospel!

I am so sick and tired of professed Christians using oxymora (plural of oxymoron) to present the Gospel. An “oxymoron” is use of conflicting words or concepts. I like to use the plural of the word, “oxymorons.” A few moments later in the program, Bill calls his Mom from prison to tell her, “I turned my life over to Jesus!” That is discipleship, not the free gift of eternal life. PGM peddles Christianity as a life-changing experience, mandating reformation to be saved. That is where they go theologically astray. Certainly the Gospel is the answer to the world's problem, and becoming a Christian ought to transform a person as their mind is renewed by the Word of God (Romans 12:1-2). 

Albeit, we absolutely need to keep these two things separate from one another, otherwise we are effectively requiring people to keep the law to be saved. Romans 3:20 says that no one can be justified by keeping the law (i.e., works). Romans 3:20, “Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.” God does not accept works for salvation. The Bible calls these “DEAD WORKS” (Hebrews 6:1). DEAD WORKS include both GOOD WORKS and BAD WORKS. We don't get saved by doing good works, nor by giving up bad works! Salvation is without works!!!

In the same program I just mentioned from 'Unshackled,' Bill's friend tells him: “Yes, I knew there was something different about you. Praise God! It will change your life.” This is the idea that Pacific Garden Mission pounds into people's minds, that giving your life to Jesus will change your life. This is the heresy of Lordship Salvation (aka,, Calvinism), and not the Gospel of free grace!

'Unshackled's Wacky Theology And Damnable False Gospel

The story is about a man named Doug Ehrhardt (Program #3613 - Aired in 2020). After going through drug rehab, Doug returns to his job and looks for “The Jesus People.” He finds Barry, who advises him at 22:59 time in the program that he will someday stand before “The Great White Throne Of Judgment.” That is not true. The Great White Throne Of Judgment is only for the unsaved (Revelation 20:12-15). PGM's theology is not very good at all. 

Barry tells Doug that everyone will one day be divided between the sheep and the goats. Again, PGM horribly misinterprets the Bible. “The Judgment Of The Nations” (Matthew 25:32-33) will happen at the end of the 7-year Tribulation period, when Jesus Christ returns at His Second Coming. Only those people who have survived the Tribulation will be judged at this time, not everyone. This event has nothing to do with The Great White Throne Judgment, which happen 1,000 years later! Only the unsaved will appear at The Great White Throne Judgment, to be judged and sentenced to the eternal Lake of Fire. PGM is really off in their theology!!!

“You see what happened here, right Doug. God has given you a second chance. And you better get this right, 'cause one day it's gonna be just you, stand before a Great White Throne in front of the Lord. And on that day, just like the Bible says, before Him shall be gathered all nations. And he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats. And He shall set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left. The sheep (those are the ones who receive Jesus in their heart), they follow Him and they go right on into Heaven. The goats live a life of sin, like you; they follow their own way, and you know where they go, Doug? They go to Hell? Now I'm telling it to you straight, no sugar coating. So you tell me, what's it gonna to be? You gonna be a sheep or a goat?” [emphasis added]

Dear reader, that is another gospel of self-righteousness! You don't go to Hell because you live in sin! You go to Hell because you reject the free gift of eternal life through faith alone in Jesus Christ. At 24:59 in the program, Doug heretically says:

“I repented of all my sins, all my past! And I believed in Jesus, to be the leader of my life!” —Doug Ehrhardt (Program #3613 - Aired in 2020)

That is a counterfeit gospel! That is not what the inspired Word of God teaches. Sadly, religious reprobates have taken control over Pacific Garden Mission, who are not saved. Harry Saulnier NEVER would have allowed this garbage theology to be taught on 'Unshackled.' No one has ever repented of all their sins! You cannot show me anywhere in the Scriptures that requires a person to repent from their sins, or turn from their sins, to be saved. That is the garbage that Pastor Marty Herron and Dr. Steve Pettit teach, and the unsaved Dr. John MacArthur crowd teaches, not the inspired Holy Bible!!!

'Unshackled' is theologically confusing at best! I am saddened that all of their hard work at PGM and 'Unshackled,' literally tens of thousands of hours over recent decades, is mostly in vain. Galatians 5:4, “Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.” The dear folks at Pacific Garden Mission are fallen from grace, because they add reformation to the grace of God. They are not merely off a bit in the their doctrinal teachings, they are preaching ANOTHER GOSPEL!!! ...

2nd Corinthians 11:3-4, “But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.” 

Who hath bewitched you Oh Pacific Garden Mission? (Galatians 3:1-3). Their 'Unshackled' programs are filled with junk theology, preaching the counterfeit gospel of Lordship Salvation. The idea that a person must turn away from their sinful behavior to be saved is human reformation, not the Gospel of free grace. Eternal life is the free gift of God, obtained by faith alone. Mark 7:9, “And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition.” Satan has crept into most churches, missions, Bible colleges and religious institutions today, preaching a counterfeit gospel of partial faith in Christ plus works!

Arthur Valder's False Gospel

In another 'Unshackled' program about Arthur Valder (program #3615 - aired in 2020), Arthur says at 17:18 time in the presentation that he needs Jesus in his life. In the conversation that follows with his friend Norm, we hear more junk theology. At 20:15 in the program, Arthur's friend Norm advises him: “When we come to Christ, we have to do our best to make a mends when we have wronged people!” That is another gospel. PGM horribly fails to make a clear distinction between discipleship and salvation. No, we don't have to do penitence (righting our wrongs) to be saved. Salvation is not penance (sorrow for sins). It is not reformation (turning for sins). Salvation is a new birth, by REGENERATION!!! Jesus said in John 3:7, “YE MUST BE BORN AGAIN”!!!

Here are some excellent helpful quotes, showing the incompatibility between Lordship Salvation and the Gospel Of Free Grace:

"It is an inexcusable error to confront sinners with problems that concern the Christian life and call upon them to make promises regarding them. An unsaved person is never called upon to surrender himself to God. The saving act is in no instance represented as our 'giving ourselves to God'; it is, on the contrary, taking His Son as our Savior." —Ryrie, Charles. Balancing the Christian Life. Moody Press, Inc., 1969 (p. 170).

"The second approach finds faith in the gospel alone an 'easy Believism' and seeks to add something to faith in order to accomplish salvation. To repent is to 'change one's mind,' and to believe is to remove one's trust from that in which it has rested and place it in Christ." Howard, William. "Is Faith Enough to Save?" —Bibliotheca Sacra. January-March, 1942 (p.99).

"This kind of faith is not 'easy believism'. It is not easy to say, 'I can't save myself, I must recognize that there is something wrong with me, and I must seek help from someone else.'" —Hook, H. Phillip. "A Biblical Definition of Saving Faith." Bibliotheca Sacra. April-June, 1964 (p. 133, 138).

"Eternal life is free. Discipleship is immeasurably hard. "There are those who, in their zeal to get people to turn from their sinful ways and receive the Lord, almost put repentance on a par with believing... "Discipleship is frequently equated with salvation and often erroneously made a condition for becoming a Christian". —Pentecost, J. Dwight. Design for Discipleship. Zondervan Publishing House, 1971 (p. 11).

"Certainly discipleship is a most important aspect of our relation to Christ, but it belongs to the sphere of Christian life rather than entrance upon that life... One does not become a disciple in order to become a Christian, but because he has become a Christian by faith in the Savior, it is fitting that he embark upon a life of discipleship". —Harrison, Everett F. "Must Christ be Lord to Be Savior?-No." Eternity, September 1959 (p. 14).

"There is no more piously subtle abrogation of the Gospel than to tell a Sinner that he must not only believe in the Savior, but dedicate himself to do God's will, crown the Savior Lord of his life, etc., etc. Obviously, dedication and service are highly desirable, but they are the privilege and the duty of the saved, never a condition of salvation for the unsaved (cf. Romans 12:1, 2)." —Unger, Merrill F. God is Waiting to Meet You. Moody Press, 1975 (p. 117, 118).

"People are sometimes led to believe that there is saving value in some public confession of Christ, or profession of a decision. "With the heart man believeth unto righteousness." This is salvation. "With the mouth confession is made unto salvation." This is the voice of the newborn child speaking to and of its father. The only condition on which one may be saved is to believe." —Chafer, Lewis Sperry. Salvation. Dunham Publishing Company, 1917 (p. 46).

Have you been deceived by Calvinism? It is commonly known today as “Lordship Salvation”! This is not the Gospel dear friend. You don't trust Jesus as your Lord or King to go to Heaven, you simply trust Him only as your personal Savior!!!

Eternal Life Not A Different Doctrine Than Eternal Security

John 6:47, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.”

The inspired Word of God does not make a distinction between Eternal Life and Eternal Security. These doctrines are one and the same! The Lord Himself promised eternal life to anyone who believes on Him. Some preachers make a distinction between eternal life and everlasting life, but I see no such distinction. These are used interchangeably. Although some saints will shine more than others in Heaven (Daniel 12:3), and have varying degrees of rewards (Matthew 6:19-20; 1st Corinthians 3:8), every believer will have “life” in Heaven. So I don't see any difference between “everlasting life” and “eternal life” in the Scripture. They are one and the same.

Likewise, the doctrines of Eternal Life and Eternal Security are the same. You don't receive eternal life at the time of salvation, and then struggle to obtain eternal security. The believer's eternal life in Christ Jesus is our eternal security!

Beware Of False Prophets

I have heard false prophets (e.g., Ray Comfort, Steve Pettit, John MacArthur and Paul Washer) teach that a person who lives in willful perpetual sin cannot be assured of eternal security. For example: Here is a disturbing quote from Ray Comfort from his 'The Evidence Bible.' On page 1513 of 'THE EVIDENCE BIBLE,' under the section “Questions & Objections,” Ray Comfort addresses the statement: “Because Jesus died on the cross we are forgiven of every sin.” Here’s Ray Comfort’s reply to this statement:

“The forgiveness that is in Jesus Christ is conditional upon ‘repentance towards God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ’ (Acts 20:21). It is a gift that God offers to everyone, but individuals must receive it by repenting and trusting in Christ, or they will remain dead in their sins. No one has Biblical grounds to continue in sin, assuming that they are safe just because Jesus died on the cross. See 1 John 3:4-6.” [Emphasis added] —'THE EVIDENCE BIBLE,' by Ray Comfort, pg. 1513; 2003, Bridge-Logos Publishers, Orlando, Florida

Those are some very dangerous words at the end, “…assuming that they are safe just because Jesus died on the cross.” Clearly, Ray Comfort thinks you must make an effort to reform your life of sin to be saved. That is another gospel. 

Another example of junk theology is Dr. Steve Pettit (president of Bob Jones University since 2014, who told 2,700 BJU students on March 30, 2020, that if they perpetually lie they'll go to Hell:

“And sadly, for some of you, it's [lying] going to find you out in eternity. If somebody perpetually lies, what does that say about him? Could it be simply exposing the reality that you've never put off the old man, and put on the new? Where do perpetual liars go? Revelation 21:9, 'all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.'” —Dr. Steve Pettit (March 30, 2020; 'The Daily Platform,' #696 - 'Tell The Truth,' 17:48 time)

Dr. Pettit is preaching another gospel of works! “All liars” go to Hell the Bible says (Revelation 21:8), which is why we all need God's “imputed righteousness” (Philippians 3:9; Romans 4:5-6). We don't have any righteousness to offer God, so He gives us His righteousness by faith. 2nd Corinthians 5:21, “For he [God the Father] hath made him [God the Son] to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.)” Sadly, Steve Pettit has a perverse Calvinist view of the Gospel, teaching that you cannot merely say, “I got saved”; but rather, he heretically teaches that you're not completely assured of Heaven until you get there! That is as Satanic as anything I know!!! How is that a free gift?

Tragically, 30% of all southern Baptists are Calvinists. The teachings of John Calvin are another gospel. Calvinists view salvation as a process, that includes sanctification and glorification. So if you are shacking up with your girlfriend, and don't go to church, and live like the Devil, Calvinists say you are not saved. They are not saved! Calvinists pervert the Gospel of free grace, following the heretical foolishness of a mass-murderer who has been dead for 500 years! The moment that you place your trust in Jesus as your Savior, you are forever born-again! The life you choose to live from that point forward is entirely a matter of discipleship, and not sonship (salvation)!

If you are saved, you 100% have eternal security!!! God doesn't give temporary life or probationary life, He only gives eternal life. God has NEVER taken away anyone's salvation who was already His child. Ephesians 1:13, “In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,” The Bible even calls the blessed indwelling Holy Spirit, the “holy Spirit of Promise.” PROMISE! What do you think that means? It means God gives the Holy Spirit to every one who believes, as He promised (John 14:16; 1st Corinthians 3:16-17). The Holy Spirit “SEALS” every saint at the time of salvation. You can lie all you want Bob Jones University' student, and not worry about God taking away His gift of salvation. You can lust and tell fibs all day long, and you'll still be “SAFE” in Jesus! Kindly said, evangelists' Steve Pettit and Ray Comfort are devils in the pulpit!!!

Once saved always saved is 100% biblical! Nothing more is required than simple childlike faith in the 'Good News' of Jesus Christ. God will not save anyone who is trying to be saved, He will only save those who are trusting to be saved. Salvation is received, not achieved. Salvation is not doing your best, it is having Christ's best put to your account through receiving Him by faith.

'Turning From Sins' Is A Counterfeit Gospel

Galatians 3:1-3, “O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you? This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?”

The just do not live by works Mr. Paul Washer! The just do not live by works Mr. Ray Comfort! The Holy Bible proclaims in Hebrews 10:38a, “NOW THE JUST SHALL LIVE BY FAITH”!!! Paul Washer has drawn back. Ray Comfort has drawn back. They have “fallen from grace,” trying to keep the LAW to be saved, which effectively is the same thing as adding works to faith for salvation. According to these errant preachers, if you don't have good works you are not saved. They all make the same grave error of wrongly defining “repentance” to mean a change of lifestyle. The Greek meaning of the word “repent” in the Bible is simply a change of mind. Mr. Washer heretically teaches:

“What you need to know is that salvation is by faith, and faith alone in Jesus Christ; and faith alone in Jesus Christ is preceded and followed by repentance—a turning away from sin, a hatred for the things that God hates, and a love for the things that God loves, a growing in holiness and a desire; not to be like Britney Spears, not to be like the world, and not to be like the majority of American Christian, but to be like Jesus Christ!” [emphasis added] —Evangelist Paul Washer, YouTube video titled: 'Paul Washer is not saved - Beware Of The Calvinist False Prophet,' time - 1:49)

Paul Washer is your typical false prophet who speaks with a forked tongue! On one hand he says that salvation is by faith alone. That much is true! Who can argue with that? But then Mr. Washer goes horribly astray from the truth, teaching that faith alone must include turning away from your sins before and after saving faith! You cannot show me the junk theology Paul is teaching anywhere in the Holy Bible. You might find that crap in the Devil's corrupt Bible revisions, but you won't find it in the inspired King James Bible!!! 

Kindly said, anyone who says that you must be willing to TURN FROM YOUR SINS to be saved is a theological LIAR! Bob Jones University are theological LIARS! Dr. Steve Pettit is a theological LIAR! Evangelist Ray Comfort is a theological LIAR! Pastor John MacArthur is a theological LIAR! Eternal life is a free gift, which demands nothing of the recipient except to receive it by faith. Even a small child can do that! Yet, Mr. MacArthur's counterfeit plan of salvation is so complicated that he says, and I quote: “There is no such thing as a childhood conversion!” Isn't that terrible? Why does Bob Jones University and their alumni bid Godspeed to this man?

Simply Believe The 'Good News' To Be Saved

The apostle Paul only wanted to know one thing of the church at Galatia in Galatians 3:1-3. Paul only wanted to know if they believed the 'Good News' that they heard preached unto them! Paul didn't mention the matter of their sins at all. Paul didn't ask them if they had turned from their sins? Paul didn't ask them if they were working at forsaking their sins? Paul Washer is an unsaved devil in the pulpit today, leading millions of people into the fires of Hell with him. We are saved by faith alone, period! Romans 4:5, “But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.”

Whenever there is a grey area, it is because it is not the truth! The truth is that NONE OF US have given up our wickedness. We are ALL woeful sinners! 1st John 1:8-10, “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.” I love you my friend, whosoever you may be. I am a big sinner just like you, like all of us. I don't want you to be deceived. Christ died for OUR SINS according to the Scriptures (1st Corinthians 15:1-4)! Christ died for UNGODLY SINNERS like you and me (Romans 4:5-6)!

Receiving A Gift Imposes No Obligations On The Recipient

Once you have the gift of eternal life, it can NEVER be lost, jeopardized or forfeited for any reason. No Christian believer can sin enough to exhaust the grace of God!!! Romans 5:20, “Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound.” Where the deepest and darkest sins abound in a believer's life, the wondrous grace of God reaches deeper than the stain of sin has gone, cleansing us spotless by the precious blood of Jesus Christ, the beautiful sinless Lamb of God!!!!!!! This doesn't give the believer permission to sin (Romans 3:31; Hebrews 12:6-8), it just means that our salvation is secured in Christ's sacrifice upon the cross of Calvary, and NOT in our performance, sincerity or level of commitment to the things of God in this life. Salvation is not doing your best, it is having Christ's best put to your account through receiving Him by faith.

No one has ever turned from all their sins. To make an attempt to do so is the sin of self-righteousness. The saving Gospel of free grace does not include human reformation! Salvation is not reformation, penance, penitence, religion, legislation, rehabilitation or education; it is REGENERATION! Jesus said, “Ye must be born again” (John 3:7). Only by the miraculous new birth can anyone enter into the Kingdom of God. Turning away from sins is not necessary to be saved. You need not be willing to try! Bible repentance is the acknowledgement that you are a guilty sinner in the sight of a holy God, seeing your need for the blessed Savior. Come to Him now Oh needy sinner, believing that Jesus Christ paid your debt of sin on the cross with His precious blood. Believe that He was buried and physically resurrected from the dead three days later. Simply believe this 'Good New' and you are saved dear reader!!! Nothing else is required by God to receive His free gift of eternal life.

Just Enough Faith

Romans 10:13, “For whosoever shall CALL upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

I used to wonder if I had enough faith to be saved. What if I didn’t have enough faith at the time I thought I was saved at age 13? What if I didn’t really get saved? How could I know if I had enough faith back then? I cannot even remember my frame of thinking 40 years ago. How do you measure faith? I want to share with you a precious truth that I learned at a church revival as a teenager, that really helped me answer these questions. All the faith you need to be saved is, “JUST ENOUGH!” Let’s look again at Romans 10:13, “For whosoever shall CALL upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” All the faith you need to be saved is just enough to call upon the name of the Lord Jesus Christ! 

The word “call” does not mean to audibly call; but rather, it means to entreat (to call forth). It is the same meaning as the old English term. I used to go to the grocery store with my mother and see a sign that read: “Please call again!” I used to wonder what that meant. We came into their store to shop, we didn't call them on the phone. When I became more educated I understood that it meant something different. The English dictionary provides 26 different meanings of the verb “call.” In the Greek, it simply means to entreat, which simply means that Jesus will save you if you come to Him by faith. John 6:37, “All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.”

What a precious promise from God! If we will only call upon the Lord Jesus for salvation, that is all the faith we need to be saved. How much faith do you need to be saved?—JUST ENOUGH! If you have “just enough” faith to put your trust in Christ, going to Him alone for the forgiveness of your sins, that’s all the faith required. Here again we see the SIMPLICITY that is in Christ. All that God requires to receive the free gift of eternal life is to appeal unto Christ. When I was 13 years old, the best I knew how, I cried out in my soul from a church pew and asked Jesus to save me. The truth is that I didn't even have to ask Him, because God has already promised “TO SAVE THEM THAT BELIEVE” (1st Corinthians 1:21b). 

It is okay to have some doubts. God will still save you despite any doubts you may have, if you'll simply act on the belief. If you have so much doubt, that you CANNOT believe on Christ, then you have a serious problem. However, If you have “JUST ENOUGH” faith to take God at His Word, by receiving Christ's sacrifice on the cross as payment for your sins, then you are doing exactly what God expects of you. You obey the Gospel by believing it! Jesus never one time spoke of degrees of faith in believing. Jesus simply told us to “believe on Him.” John 6:40, “And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and BELIEVETH ON HIM, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.” If you “believe” on Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, you are saved. 

All humanity are sinners (Romans 3:23). The Bible teaches that death is the penalty for our sins (Romans 6:23). This includes the second death in Hell (Revelation 20:15: 21:8; Psalms 9:17). Do you see yourself as a needy sinner? God sent His only begotten Son to pay for our sins on the cross (John 3:16). Do you believe Jesus died on the cross FOR YOUR SINS? Do you believe Jesus was buried, and bodily resurrected three days later (1st Corinthians 15:1-4)? If you believe these Bible truths and have “JUST ENOUGH” faith to BELIEVE this 'Good News'—you are saved by faith! You don’t need to spend countless hours worrying over whether or not you have enough faith. If you have “JUST ENOUGH” faith to “CALL UPON THE NAME OF THE LORD,” that’s all the faith you need to be saved. Either you “believe” on the Lord Jesus, or you don’t. I believe!

All the faith you need to be saved is “JUST ENOUGH” to obey the Gospel, by believing it! 

DO or DONE!

Ephesians 2:8-9, “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.”

There are two types of religions in this world—DO and DONE! You either have to DO something to earn or merit your way to Heaven; or else it is DONE and Jesus Christ had already paid you sin debt on the cross with His blood. Take your pick friend, but only one path leads to lie, the other path unto death. Matthew 7:13-14, “Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.” The reason why so few people ever find the way unto eternal life is simply because it is so easy! I have studied all of the major pseudo-Christian religions, and I can show you that each of them teaches you must DO something to be saved. 

For example: Roman Catholics are taught that they must keep Seven Sacraments (e.g., water baptism, holy Eucharist, confession, confirmation, et cetera) to get to Heaven. None of that is biblical. These are manmade tradition, fabricated over the centuries by the Vatican. Mark 7:9, “And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition.” Mormons, Jehovah's Witness, Church of Christ, Lutherans and Seventh-Day Adventists all require water baptism to get to Heaven. The Word of God does NOT require water baptism for salvation. You cannot show me even one Scripture that mandates baptism to get to Heaven. The repentant thief on the cross wasn't baptized, yet Jesus promised him eternal life (Luke 23:43). 

Sadly, there is another form of false religion (a cult) which has crept unawares into about half of all Baptist churches today, known as “Calvinism” (aka, “Lordship Salvation”). This is a deadly damnable heresy, which says that faith alone is insufficient to get to Heaven. In addition, these heretics require that you do one or more of the following: run the race, make full surrender to Christ as “Lord,” commit your life to Christ, count the cost and pay the price, be willing to turn from your sins, live a lifestyle of repentance, follow Jesus no matter what the cost, make public confession, et cetera. None of these things comprise the Gospel.

The Gospel of free grace taught in the Bible is based upon what Christ has already DONE to pay for our sins. Sanctification is a process, which begins with being born-again. Sanctification is the process of becoming Christlike. We are saved by faith in a moment, but becoming Christlike takes a lifetime. God finishes what He starts. Philippians 1:6, “Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:” However, when corrupt preachers mandate a changed life to get to Heaven, they have combined works with grace. They are preaching another gospel. Sanctification is a matter of growth in grace as a believer, and has nothing to do with accepting the free gift of eternal life. Salvation is salvation, and discipleship is discipleship.

Either God does the saving, all of it, or else you don't get His grace! Isaiah 64:6 says that even our righteousness is filth in God's sight. That is because no matter how much good we do, we cannot erase the sins we have already committed. That is why we read in James 2:10, “For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.” If you understand this Scripture passage, then it will become obvious just how foolish the very idea of a person “turning from sins” to be saved really is. I don't care how much you may attempt to “turn away from your sins,” YOU ARE STILL A WOEFUL SINNER! Listen dear friend, the only difference between a born-again saint of God, and the vilest lost sinner upon the face of the earth, is the precious blood of Jesus Christ that washes all our sins away (1st John 1:7; Revelation 1:5). DO or DONE! Which is it friend?

DO GOODERS Don't Go To Heaven, DO TRUSTERS Go!

John 3:36, “He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.”

DO GOODERS don't go to Heaven, DO TRUSTERS go to Heaven!!! What a wonderful statement. Pastor Jack Hyles (1926-2001) said that in this sermon clip. There is a horrible spiritual disease known as “Lordship Salvation,” which has infected most churches today. This counterfeit gospel teaches that a person must make full surrender to Jesus not only as one's Savior, but also as “Lord” to be saved. This means “to be willing to turn from your sins,” to be saved. This means committing your life to Him, to be saved. This means following Jesus no matter what the cost, to be saved. These are all a perversion of grace! DO GOODERS don't go to Heaven, DO TRUSTERS go to Heaven!!!

Repeatedly in the inspired King James Bible, we read that whosoever believes on the name of Jesus Christ will have eternal life. 1st John 3:23, “And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment.” Some preachers have been woefully deceived, thinking that turning from sins for salvation is not Lordship Salvation! How is that not Lordship Salvation? Of course it is Lordship Salvation! Anything “more” required than simple childlike faith in 'The Gospel,' is a false plan of salvation! Whatever changes God wants to see happen in a believer's life is His department, our only part in salvation is to BELIEVE. DO GOODERS don't go to Heaven, DO TRUSTERS go to Heaven!!!
